What is the best way to manage the feeding portions for six indoor cats? One is extremely overweight. Three are pretty normal and the other two starting to pack on weight as well now. I'm always afraid the ones that are pretty normal will not get enough food.

The feeding of this food would be based on the weight of the cats. Cats between 5-9 pounds should be fed 1/4-1/2 of a cup daily for weight reduction or 1/2-3/4 of a cup daily for weight maintenance. Cats between 10-14 pounds should be fed 1/2-3/4 of a cup daily for weight reduction or 3/4-1 cup daily for weight maintenance.

What kind of ash is in the cat food?

Ash is left over after the food is completely cooked (incinerated). This means that protein, fat & will burn first leaving trace minerals behind (i,e: calcium, phosphorus, zinc, iron, etc.).
