Ingredient Information

Feeding Instructions

Honest Research. Unbiased Data.

Research is grounded in trusted, peer-reviewed sources rather than in-house studies. Unique ingredients are supported by scientific research and included at meaningful levels when used in formulas.

100% Horse Safe

Standard safety protocols are not enough. Risky ingredients, such as ionophores, are never allowed on the property. Ingredients are sourced exclusively from partners who share the same safety standards, ensuring there is no risk of contamination.

Built on Trust

Every ingredient is clearly listed by its true name, and formulas are locked to ensure consistency in every bag. Operating as a single-mill facility allows for rapid innovation without compromising the safety and quality horses deserve.

A Personal Approach

Building strong connections matters. That’s why Bluebonnet invests in private nutrition consultations, co-hosts community education events, and shares tools that empower owners to make informed decisions for their animals long after the first interaction.

About Bluebonnet Feeds

Since the early 1980s, safety and integrity have been at the center of everything Bluebonnet does. Every formula is science-backed, developed by in-house PhD nutritionists, and supported by a world-class team dedicated to making advanced nutrition simple and effective.

My goats love this food. One of them is prone to blockages but hasn't had an issue with these pellets. They're small enough for them to eat easily and aren't just straight alfalfa. This is my goats' main food when they don't have any grazing in the Winter and mid-Summer, and they're all healthy and happy. It tends to get windy where I live, and they can't pull the pellets out of the feeders in their lean or stall like they do hay, so it doesn't get blown away.

Consistently high quality blend

Bag after bag of this blend has been perfect. Horses perk up upon hearing these little green pellets hit their slow grain feeders. This feed is an inexpensive solution

Holds up well

Pellets are a little smaller than normal (thinner) but holds up well for potty training pan. Isn't as messy as cedar ones which turn into sawdust and get everywhere

Great Product

My horses love the smaller pellet size and seem to eat them better than the local farm store pellet. I also appreciate the convenience of shipping.

TERRIBLE QUALITY

I ordered this product thinking that the pellets would soak water faster. Tell me why most of the pellets were straight powder?

Fast soaking pellets and fast delivery

These have been some of my favorite pellets so far just because of how fast they soak with hot water. I’m not having to wait hours to feed

Quality

Pellets weren't dusty, they were very easy to soak or to feed dry. I highly recommend them. I will by this brand again in the future.
