I have tried MANY litters through the years as my feline crew has grown in numbers. I am getting older and I needed something lighter and EASIER. This litter, by far, is my absolute favorite!!! It’s very low dust and clumps VERY WELL. I have 12 furry friends which I’d say is a good number to test the clumping ability and odor neutralizing qualities of any litter. BOXIE CAT is outstanding in both these areas. I’ve more recently broken the rule of one box per cat plus one extra. The 12 are sharing 6 boxes and the clumps remain solid until I scoop. Ideally I scoop twice a day which is most common for me. But there are days it only gets accomplished once in a given day and that’s a good test for the clumps not breaking apart with multiple use. I love the smell of this litter also. It smells fresh and natural. I don’t like synthetic scents so this litter is wonderful. Remember, our furry friends are ingesting a certain amount of whatever litter they’re using…due to grooming. I believe in keeping things as natural as possible. The probiotics are a bonus for sure. ***A note to anyone thinking of changing to this or any new litter….please do it gradually, especially if you only have one box! There’s guidelines on the packaging for a good reason. Most felines don’t do well with sudden changes and that goes for food or litter. The other reason I favor this litter….it glides through the litter scooper tongs much faster than the other litters I’ve tried. With a dozen felines…this makes a huge, time saving, difference! Thank you BOXIE CAT creators.
This litter has a sour smell once it is used and it cements itself to the sides of the litter box.
Okay for a plant-based litter, and it does smell nice and grassy, but it's twice as expensive as World's Best, and we didn't find that it worked any better. I can't afford to experiment any more, because this stuff is like gold, not just barley.
I have liked other Boxicat litters and ordered this one to make it easier for delivery. However, the litter turns into a sticky clump at the bottom of the box and is hard to scoop cause it sticks to the box. Also, it says unscented but it smells like a barn.
My vet recommended this after my cat got a UTI. It costs more, but I truly do use less--my current bag should last me 8 weeks or so. Easy to scoop and doesn't cling to the inside of the box like other clumping litters. The clay version of BoxieCat is a little more odor absorbent than this is, but I use this with a sprinkle of baking soda and it does the trick.
This looks like a great litter and I didn't sneeze or wheeze at all when I poured it into the box. Because I have asthma and I'm also allergic to a lot of trees, I've had a hard time finding a natural litter that won't bother me. This one smelled great and didn't look dusty at all, but of course the moment I set it down my oldest piglet was chowing down.. apparently the smell was just TOO good. Don't try this if your cat is so angry about his weight loss program that he will eat anything that smells even remotely nice. I had to toss it immediately.
While expensive relative to clay-based litters, this particular BoxiePro product is lightweight, mostly dust-free, and very lightweight if you have any issues cleaning kitty litter. Smells great and cats love it.
I was attracted by this light weight litter for obvious reasons. Little did I know it was made of barley. My two cats began eating it! The elder of the two became ill and spent days in the hospital afterwards. If your cat is on a grain-free/limited ingredient diet, steer clear of this cat litter. BoxiePro original unscented litters are a wiser choice.
This product is made of bran or barley so it smells a bit like cereal, which can be disorienting if you like having cereal for breakfast! It clumps okay, however it is NOT compatible with a LItter Genie because the litter starts to decompose almost immediately after it is used! I put this in my Litter Genie and when I went to dispose of the full bag in the Litter Genie, found the bottom of the Genie filled with a stinky sludge! The first time I thought it was my fault for not emptying it more quickly, but after only a couple of days it happened again! Also I had an issue, like someone else mentioned, of litter goo sticking to kitty's paws. I think I'll go back to clay!
I bought this because I thought I’d have better luck getting it delivered. The last boxie pro I ordered was opened due to poor delivery, I assumed because of the frustrated delivery driver due to the weight. But this has an odor, yes it’s so much lighter (nice feature) but it smells.
