Description

Veterinarian-recommended and award-winning, Boxiecat Scent-free Cat Litter is made from 100% all-natural clumping clay that stays ultra-clean even after weeks of scooping. Hard flat-top clumps form instantly on the top of the litter box, rather than soaking to the bottom, making them easy to scoop. Because Boxiecat’s clumps don’t break or crumble, it’s easier to keep kitty’s litter box cleaner, better smelling, and more inviting–it’s like a new bag after every scoop. Proudly made in the USA, this ultra-low dust litter is ideal for households with allergy sufferers.

Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

    Sticky litter issues

    By on

I have 2 cats with toe infections. Got Boxie for its firm clumping. Yet, numerous times my cat would step in the urine ball leaving glue like paste between toes and foot pad. Defeated Keeping feet clean. A painful mess. I prefer natural litter but needed a litter that is inert. I Bought Naturally Fresh quick clump. It’s wonderful. The clumps aren’t rock hard but easy to scoop. If my cats step in it the litter it doesn’t cause a problem. It’s healthier, less dust and eco friendly. FYI, I put a stainless full choice pan like u see in a cafeteria. I place that pan inside the large FRISCO high sided plastic litter box. The Frisco outer box catches some of the litter scatter.

    unfortunately, not so good

    By on

I really wanted to like this litter. My cat had recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and was peeing more than usual. I had been using Swheatscoop because of it’s natural / non chemical profile, but the clumping was not great. My friend reco’d Boxiecat. After 1 day, i had to discard of all of it. Because the clumps form on too, the pee pools before it fully hardens and it is easy for the cat to step in/on it. I had “smeared” white spots throughout my entire house. Disgusting - knowing it was his urine that was being tracked everywhere

    Works mostly as advertised

This is my first try with a clumping clay litter so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. I liked the texture of this litter (like coarse sand) which was slightly less noisy when my cat was digging through it. For some reason, though, it caused her to want to dig and toss it all right out the front of the box so I may try a higher bin or top entry box with it instead. In terms of tracking its driving me more insane, there is definitely some and they’re small so harder to see, which could be a pro or a con depending on what makes you crazy. Her urine clumps did not form those nice flat top clumps that you can see in YouTube videos showcasing this product, but instead produced smaller, more condensed This is my first try with a clumping clay litter so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Her urine clumps did not form those nice flat top clumps that you can see in YouTube videos showcasing this product, but instead produced smaller, more condensed urine balls/columns than when I was using Okocat. Some small pieces at the edges of the urine balls seem to break off during scooping and were hard to catch bc they were too small and fell through the scoop. I felt odor control for poop was better with this product than with okocat, I could still tell when a poop was happening but not for as long and the smell didn’t take over the entire apartment. This litter had a minimal dust cloud when I poured into the box, but does still have a fine coating of dust in the box and on the scoop. It kicks up enough dust (that I can’t even see) when I’m scooping or my cat is digging that my air purifier kicks up to medium and then high mode while on auto. … more

    What a mess

    By on

I really wanted to love this litter. I bought 2 bags and filled 2 boxes full about a week ago. Since then, I have had to put my cat in the bathtub and wash his back legs THREE times. Why? Because, as the description says, this litter clumps on the surface--which means that the pee does not sink to the bottom--instead, it pools on the surface of the litter and eventually gets all over my cat's back legs while he's peeing. He emerges from the box with both back legs drenched in pee and covered in litter sludge, which he then tracks all over the house until I can get him in the tub to wash his back legs. One time, he even got it all over his front paws while trying to cover his puddle. Having to I really wanted to love this litter. I bought 2 bags and filled 2 boxes full about a week ago. Needless to say, I've already had to order different litter to replace the 2 bags of this litter that I just bought. What a bummer. … more

Good litter, not good shipping dept

No complaints about litter but with Chewy’s shipping department - bag sliced from other plastic items in box and litter everywhere.

    So far so good!

    By on Top 100 Contributor

Have not used clay in a really long time, but was not having success with the light weight litters out there. I have tried them all wheat, paper, walnut shells, news paper....etc! Cats really migrate back to the box with the Boxie cat in it, no scent in this on which I like, clumps very well and so far has not stuck to the bottom of the box. Tracking not bad, but just love the ones that can dig and toss the litter out and of course this is no exception! So bottom line is this one seem to work good in all that I’m looking for in a litter and also seems to have great odor control which is great!

I wish I stopped using this sooner

    By on

The granules are so small that they fit in between a cat’s toes and track everywhere, the litter doesn’t absorb urine quickly and makes “flat top clumps” which are more like flat top urine puddles that your pet can step in, and track clay/pee all over your household to clean up. The packaging is nice but I wish it was recyclable. You need the bigger bag most of the time due to how much litter is wasted in the odd absorption method it has. There’s a lot of dust when pouring the litter as well as cleanup.

I don't remember that I have a litter box in my living room

    By on

This litter is great! It covers everything my two cats leave in there just enough to not waste any litter when I scoop. There is NO SMELL AT ALL. This is my first unscented litter purchase and I'm liking how it traps the odor. I find scented just does a poor job of masking the odor. It says one bag can last two cats a month, so we'll see how it does.

    I really like this litter

While I am not the one actually using the litter - I do like it for my cat. I have a male and while he prefers to do his business outside when possible he is more than willing to use the litter box, as needed. The litter does what it is supposed to do, clumps at the top and no odour. I have two hounds and it was often a race, literally, as to which of us got to the cat box first after use. That hasn't been an issue since using Boxiecat. I had to adjust the depth of the litter a few times until finding the best fill. Too little and it would stick to the bottom. Too much and it spilled over the edges when Purrdy was covering. He also spends far less time in the box after use so, again, less mess While I am not the one actually using the litter - I do like it for my cat.
