I have three dogs who are on three different levels of play. Winnie is off the charts brilliant and I have to load the puzzle with high value treats buried in kibble and then lock her in the bathroom while I hide the puzzle for her to find it, and then she plays with it. Rue is just as smart, but lazy. She plays the puzzle solely for the treats. Then there's Dexter. I inherited him in September when my Mom passed away. He's never been one to play with toys, plus he's been very depressed since losing his mom. I showed him how to work this puzzle, and he gets all excited when it's his turn. He's still learning how to maneuver all the blocks, and he digs out the high value treats, but I'm thrilled to see him engage with anything. Thank you to the makers of this puzzle.

The Level of Challenge for My 2 Aussies is Great

I bought 2 of these because I have 2 beautiful, loveable, wonderful, SUPER INTELLIGENT Australian Shepherds. Anyone who has (or had) an Aussie knows how intelligent they are. (They're definitely problem solvers! LOL!) I like this puzzle two reason: 1. It does not have removable parts. One of my Aussies is a powerful chewer. If the parts were removeable, I GUARANTEE YA, she would chew it up and swallow it before I could stop her! (I've had her to the vet for things she's swallowed before.) She doesn't do it to be naughty; she just thinks that's what she's supposed to do, so I have to exercise extreme caution when buying toys. 2. The challenge level is perfect for my 2 very intelligent Aussies. They enjoy their puzzles, and I enjoy watching my babies use their noses and paws to slide the compartments open to retrieve the treats. I highly recommend this puzzle for any dog, especially dogs who have a high degree of intelligence.

This is the second puzzle toy my dog has tried - the first was a level 2 that she figured out within a couple of minutes. I wish this toy's description said what level it is - seems like level 1 to me. Will be buying more advanced toys now. Agree with other reviews that say the swiveling ones are especially easy when the dog hits the toy. Definitely recommended as an intro to puzzle toys. I do like that the pieces are all attached so she doesn't hide or chew on them.

I’ve heard that the reason dogs/puppies get destructive and chew on everything is because they aren’t being mentally stimulated enough so I was hoping this would help. My puppy absolutely loves it and it’s so fun watching him try to figure it out. I’m careful about how often I use it because I can tell he’s starting to recognize the patterns and I don’t want it to get too easy for him.

It's insane to me that this has good reviews. My dog 'solves' this in less than 10 seconds. The pieces are flimsily attached the board so even a slight breeze would push them enough to review the hidden treat. only two of the pieces require moving one to move the other - the others are just, "slightly tap board, piece moves, treat eaten". its not a puzzle - it's a container for treats. unless your dog is actively in a coma, I don't think this will entertain them for long.

This would be a good toy to help your dog “think” his way to the hidden treats. I think it was too easy for my smart schnauzer to figure out. If it were harder to get the treat doors open it would have been a better toy for him but would be a good trading toy for a younger dog.

The directions were good for teaching your dog, however my doggo figured it out right away so it’s a short use toy. I like being able to reuse it but she doesn’t find it too puzzling. I think it takes me longer to fill it than her get everything out.
