What are the dimensions of the unpackaged suet cake?

Are these no-melt in warmer temps?

Answer by LeslieAug 18, 2025
Yes, the Denver area's temperature can reach the 90s at times. The suet is under a tree, but it catches the sun. I've tried other brands, and this is the only one that does not melt.

I took off the label but do you take it out of the plastic tray before you put it in the metal screen

Answer by ChewyApr 27, 2019
The food does not have to be taken out of the packaging.

How many cakes?

Answer by ChewyNov 23, 2020
This is a single tray.

This suet draws alot of different birds in especially since it got to cold. 3 different kinds of Woodpeckers, my beautiful Cardinals, a few Blue Jay's, Thrashers and Red Winged Blackbirds. Great product! My niece cuts the cake in 1/2 so she can make it last longer.

Ignored

After a week, I've seen only two birds visit this while they constantly visit my seed feeders, so I fed it to my chickens to help with the bitter cold

Where are the Birds?

Usual suet doesn’t last very long after I put it out. For some reason the birds are mostly ignoring this particular suet.

Local birds didn’t like it

I’m sure it’s a great product but none of my finches, doves, quails, crows or wild turkeys wanted it.

Good product

The birds seem to really enjoy it. Especially the woodpeckers who frequent my feeder.

I had all but given up on suet cakes, because the only birds that ever used them were goldfinches, which we only host in winter here in the florida panhandle. Once they leave in March, the suet cakes always sit unused until they mildew or melt in the heat. I decided to give these a try last fall, and my goodness at the way ALL our songbirds LOVE this suet! Chickadees, Titmice, wrens, even cardinals...they gobbled these up in just a week or so! And the goldfinches love it, too.

The birds love this!

I’ve never had so many birds go after suet like they do with this one. The woodpeckers love it, and so do the sparrows.

Won't eat

This is the 2nd time I've ordered suet cakes that the birds won't eat. There was some interest at first, but then it just hung there.
