I am using this.senior feed for my yearlings (based on vet recommendations) no where does it state to let feed soak, however when receiving the bag, it states to soak for 3 mins. My question is, is it OK to give in the dry pellet form?

This feed is designed to be fed with good quality forage, pasture or hay. If dental issues prevent older horses/ponies from chewing and digesting long-stemmed hay properly, provide a forage alternative at a minimum of 1.5% of body weight per day.

Incredible

I can’t believe how much of a difference this has made in my senior mare. She was sluggish and having a hard time with work, and she could not put on weight. She was on a performance senior grain from another company and increasing her feed only seemed to make it worse. Switched to Buckeye Safe N Easy combined with Buckeye Ultimate Finish 100 fat supplement. It’s like I have a different horse. She’s doing so much better, she looks great, she’s riding beautifully, and I can feed her less grain because the nutrition content in Buckeye products is so high. Additionally this grain can soak up a ton of water without getting chunky and runny. It just puffs up. It’s amazing for hydration and/or soaking feed for old teeth.

Helped a picky pony!

My old picky mare was struggling to gain weight and this is the only thing that will get her to eat her grain! I mix it in 50/50 with her other feed and she eats it all immediately. Highly recommend it for picky eaters with dietary restrictions.

Great, when not stale

Our senior horse loves this product. The first bag we received was stale. But we did not know this until we received our 2nd order, which actually smells nice. Hopefully the next ones we order will be good.

Buckeye Senior Safe N'Easy Senior

So excited to fine the "Buckeye" products at Chewy.com! The rescue horses always have physical and health issues. I wasn't sure the horses would enjoy this paticular feed but "OH MY GOSH" the horses on this feed clean their tubs with each meal! I do add water to ensure there is no choking while the horses are enjoying their meals! Thank you Chewy for providing the Buckeye Equine Feeds!!!

tasty metabolic feed

quality ingredients complete,tasty pellets for my finicky senior mare. Like the fact that i can soak it for 3 minutes then add meds. MIa's coat is shiny topline great. She eats bowl clean!

The senior feed Buckeye is great our horse Smokey loves this product and doesnt toss it out of his feeder and eats every bit of it we put his medicine in it and it is gone had problems with other feed but this one works thank you every one
