How do you refill the diffuser

Answer by ChewyAug 11, 2025
The BugPellent product line includes a refill pouch which contains two individual cylinder refills, each in a plastic bag. The BugPellent cylinder cap can be removed by turning approximately 180 degrees counterclockwise. Once the cap is off, the pellets to be removed will fall out when held upside down and tapped gently.

Is this safe to hang in the backyard when my 8 week old puppy is outside?

Answer by ChewyJun 13, 2025
This kit offers a natural, safe, and effective way to protect horses, dogs, and other animals from insects. It emits vapors of essential oils to repel a broad range of pests, making it a convenient and environmentally friendly option for pest control.

How often do you have to refill?

Answer by ChewyJun 06, 2025
BugPellent will last 4-8 weeks, depending on temperature and airflow. Empty and refill the cylinder when a decrease in odor is observed or flying insect presence increases.

Can this be used in a chicken coop? Is it safe for chickens?

Answer by ChewyJun 04, 2025
This product is generally considered safe for use around chickens in their coop or run, provided certain precautions are observed. While the cylinder can be effective in repelling insects in chicken coops and runs, it's essential to use it with caution. Proper placement, adequate ventilation, and monitoring your chickens' health are key to ensuring their safety.

Fixed a bee issue

Bees had overtaken my back deck (home was previously vacant for over 1 year). I couldn’t go out without being attacked and stung. I didn’t want to kill them. This was perfect! I hung it up, a yellow jacket flew towards it and make a quick move around it. I haven’t seen the carpenter bees either. There’s plenty of space for them to go where we won’t interact with each other.

At first, I was hesitant to tolerate the strong citronella smell in my garage and covered back patio. We’ve been dealing with a fly problem this year, and I’ve also placed one in my parents’ garage. After a few days, the citronella smell did diminish. I’m willing to give the product another chance by placing additional bugpellent in all locations. Yes, I’m that desperate! I’ll add two to the covered back porch, making it three total. I’ll also place a second one in both garages. The product is packaged well, has good design, and is easy to install. The instructions are also well-written and illustrated. I’ll review again in a month after I add more bugpellent.

Started using fly blocks early in the season with great results but during the hot summer they don't seem as effective. I thought I would try these and they really work! I put it up by their hay feeder and they can eat in peace. No stomping! Works on gnats too! I'm getting a couple more for other placements!

Pleasant smell but still flies.

It doesn’t work

We got it to get rid of flies. It actually seemed to attract more flies so I took it down.

Hung these in my horses stalls. Hard to say how effective they are, but appear to work OK.
