Is this substate mostly aragonite, or is it mostly other minerals?

Ivory Coast is about half aragonite and half inert substrate.

Is this prewashed?

This sand is prewashed, however, we highly recommend rinsing before using to help diminish the dust from shipping and handling.

compatible with South American cichlids?

This substrate is suitable for tropical freshwater fish.

can you use this in an aquatic turtle tank? it's freshwater.

This sand is not ideal for turtles, as they can eat smaller rocks which can block their digestive tract. We would recommend gravel that are over 1 to 3 inches.

Nice look but

I have NEVER had this difficult a time getting clear water as I did with this sand. I’m sure there are other options that look nice and are easier to get rinsed
