Casfuy PWS-133 T-Shaped Spout Stainless Steel Dog & Cat Water Fountain, 108-oz

I did the research and chose this fountain because I thought it fit all of our needs. Sadly it does not and it is on its way back to Chewy. To start, it's not stainless steel. If it is, it's a thin, cheap version of it. It feels more like a brushed nickel finish than stainless steel, which makes me wonder about how much it will rust over time. There are so many parts to clean in this fountain. It was quite overwhelming at first, but we needed a fountain, so I tried to decipher the small images to figure out what went where. I needed a fountain with a pool of water in case of power outages. I thought this one had that based on the pictures, but it doesn't. Well, it has a very shallow pool, which is not enough for multiple pets to drink from. This might not matter to some, but I don't ever want my pets to be without water if the power goes out when I'm at work. The filter was the final straw and why I rated this so low. I soaked it per the directions, but it spewed out white dust when I turned on the fountain. So then I soaked it longer and got the same results. There was nothing in the soak water; only in the fountain when running. I certainly don't want my pets drinking that stuff. I was wasting gallons of water trying to get it to stop spewing white dust before I decided enough was enough. I dried everything out, packed it back up, and promptly ordered a smaller fountain from a more well-known brand. We'll have to fill it more often, but hopefully their standards are higher and in-line with our previous fountains. This fountain was a huge disappointment and I am shocked at all of the rave reviews. I expected much better quality for the price, and I certainly expected clean water free from tiny pieces of the filter. Definitely avoid this one.
