Works but I don’t like it

I was so taken with the looks and good reviews of this waterer that I bought one for cats, one for dogs and one for barn cats. They work fine, and the cats like

I was so taken with the looks and good reviews of this waterer that I bought one for cats, one for dogs and one for barn cats. They work fine, and the cats like the little fountain, the dogs not so much. I ended up just using the base for the dogs. I really wish I hadn’t spent the money on these waterers. Yes, there’s a lighted window to view water level; however, you need to get down and look directly at it. There’s no way to check water level easily from looking down. A major con is the fact that the container is topped with a lid. Yes, it keeps the water clean, but if electric power goes out, the fountain does not work, and the pets cannot get to the water. This is a crucial flaw should power go out and no one is home, something I didn’t think about until it happened. I’m going to donate these waterers and get something more pet and owner friendly.

It is going to be extremely easy to clean I use filtered water so I'm really not going to replace a charcoal as often. Unfortunately for my 3, 60 lb dogs and one cat I've already filled it up a couple times. I'm going to have to buy another one only a bit bigger. It does have a very low light coming from the unit to see the water level but unfortunately I cannot really see it without turning on the ceiling lights. I'd say if you got more than two animals get a bigger unit unless they're both cats. Then I think you're going to be fine.

We've always used another brand that had trickling water, and they liked that one too, but it had to be refilled a lot more often than this one, and that was even using two fountains. This one took about a minute to assemble, is very easy to refill, and the little fountain on top is quiet and puts out lots of water. That's the part that the cats love, and I'm very happy with this purchase.
