Instructions

Transition Instructions

  • Place a cat pad, soft side up, in the drawer. Slide the drawer into the base. Fill the top portion of the box with one package of litter pellets.
  • Put stool and/or urine clumps from your previous litter box onto the litter pellets in the Breeze litter box. This helps your cat understand that Breeze is her new litter box.
  • Place the Breeze litter box next to your previous litter box, and let your cat have access to both boxes. Please stop cleaning your previous litter box.
  • After 2 - 3 days, remove your previous litter box.
  • Dos and Don'ts: Most cats need time to adjusts to the change in their litter. During the transition, please help your cat by observing the following: Do be patient. The Breeze litter box is very different from traditional litters, and some cats may take longer than others to make the switch. Don't force your cat into the Breeze litter box. Let her explore the new box on her own. It's important that your cat chooses to use the new box on her own. forcing her into the Breeze litter box could frighten her, and she may avoid using it altogether. Do set up your new Breeze litter box right next to your previous litter box. Putting your Breeze litter box in the same location helps to minimize the change your cat is experiencing. Don't hover around the Breeze litter box. Give your cat a chance to explore it on her own. Even cats prefer a little privacy when they are doing their business.

Box Set-Up

  • Snap the side-wall on the grated base.
  • Place a cat pad in the drawer of the breeze litter box. Slide the drawer into the base.
  • Fill the top portion of the breeze litter system with one package of litter pellets.

Easy Maintenance

  • Scoop out solid waste and dispose of daily. Note: Litter pellets do not clump.
  • Add more litter pellets as necessary. Note: Litter pellets generally last one month.
  • Slide drawer out to replace soiled pad. Drawer can be rotated 180 degrees, without touching the pad, to extend pad life. Note: Breeze Pads generally last up to one week for a single cat.

I have quite a few cats that I've rescued from the street. Buying and lugging home boxes of litter, hours cleaning litter boxes and hauling everything to the trash was not fun. I bought two breeze systems to start and loved them. Half of my cats now have them and I'm getting ready to replace the rest. Some of my cats are large but have no problems with the boxes. I'm ecstatic with the ease of cleaning and the odor control. Some reviewers complain about the poop smell but I don't find it any worse than with the covered boxes. I bought this system because the newspaper litter for my foster kittens and mommy cats was getting expensive and, well, kinda smelly. The transition from the current litter to this one was seemless. It does what it says and works as described. The challenge is if a cat has a softer stool or diareah, it fails on that end. You are going to pretty much replace the entire litter and continue as so many of the pieces that haven't stuck to the mess get poo on them. And because there's so little litter that sticks less than traditional clay, you will be scrubbing the box. The other challenge is even if you have one cat, if it's not filling the pads and having to be changed every other day, your cat may not be getting enough water. Still, for a non clay litter, and needing a larger sized pellet, this is working well. The scented pads are defintely better. … more

  • Best litter box ever

    By on

No more litter all over the floor. The box is used with pellets and pads in a tray that is under the box to collect urine. You scoop the poop daily and I change the pads weekly or as necessary. Odorless, clean and no more mess with litter. I have two kittens that had an easy transition changing from their other litter box. Follow the directions they include. It is a bit more pricey, but well worth it. I bought each kitten their own as suggested. I also bought doggy bags to remove the poop and it works great.

  • Great, except the smell of poop

For anyone buying a starter system, I'd recommend to go ahead and purchase an additional refill bag for your first month of use. It seems like the strategy will be to empty and completely refill with new pellets 1x monthly, but to also have an additional bag of refills for as needed add-ins throughout the month. The pellets do start to become a little sparse after a week or two; honestly they *seem* a little sparse from the get-go. But, that may just be me not knowing. I'm trusting the designers on this one. He is really bothered (as am I) by the smell when our kitten poops, because that odor is not well-controlled by this box. Usually she will cover it, and in that case it's not *that* bad. However, at least once a day she will poop and not cover it, which I assume is because of the sparse amount of pellets in the box. Those times are terrible. It smells so bad. I'm trying to just be sure there's some extra pellets at all times to prevent this. Not eager to switch back just yet. … more

  • Great litter box with one reservation

This is just about a perfect litter solution for people who can't bend to clean a litter box, don't want the dust and litter tracked through the house and have difficulty lifting traditional clumping litter boxes--even the lightweight kind. We have two cats and two litter boxes. The pads last three days in one and almost a week in the other (they tend to use one box for poop and the other for pee--go figure). It's very easy to clean. They're very lightweight. The only drawback is that while there is no urine odor at all, there is nothing to keep the poop from smelling, so we have to be pretty vigilant about scooping. I'm still not sure if I love this litter system, but I will still recommend it as it is better than regular clumping litter and cheaper than pretty litter. The pad is great although we have to replace it each day because our elderly cat pees all day long. The ammonia smell we had with previous litter was overpowering, even when cleaned twice a day and this does not have any ammonia smell. However, the poo sticks to the pellets so with twice a day cleaning, many pellets are lost and may need to be replaced more often than it's intended. The poo also has a lingering odor. I understand that's nature, but our other litter box has pretty litter and there's no poo smell after a few minutes of kitty's evacuation. That stuff absorbs all the moisture and takes that smell right out but we had to get something else for our elderly cat because he pees so much, the pretty litter would be full of ammonia smell within a few days, and not a month later as it should be. We still use that for the bedroom and the elderly cat now uses the breeze system in another area. At first I was concerned our kitten would try to eat the pellets but I haven't seen this happen... however she does play in the box and flings them everywhere, and the others throw some out of the box when they dig. Pros: litter doesn't get trapped in kitty's paws then tracked all over the house, the pad is easy to remove, no ammonia smell, lightweight bags. Cons: cat's fling pellets all over - painful to step on, poo smell lingers even when cleaned out twice a day … more

  • almost.......but unfortunate.

I was so excited for this system and to not have litter scattered throughout the house anymore. Even though my cat is 14, he adjusted easily to the new litter box. Conceptually it's a great idea but a couple days in I realized there is no urine odor control. I scoop the poop daily but the pellets stink of urine (super offensive) and the pads have to be changed every 2 days. I never had an odor problem with Scoop away so I will be switching back.

Here’s the deal: I really loved this. There were multiple PROS: 1. easy for cats to get in and out of - It worked for my old arthritic cat who could no longer use a regular litter box 2. Amazing at dealing with urine odor. Yes, Amazing. 3. Reduced need to scoop (sort of - see cons) 4. Pads lasted much longer than directed. This sounds terrible, but at one time I had 3 cats using the one box and the urine pad lasted a WEEK. Even the pellets lasted much longer. 5. Easy transition for each of my three cats including the old senile one. All that being said, eventually I gave up on it, for a few reasons but number 1 CON for me was: 1. Doesn’t deal with poop smells AT ALL. Which leads to... 2. Required extremely vigilant scooping. You don’t scoop near as much re: quantity but you have to scoop nearly immediately to deal with the poop smell. Depending on where your box is, how sensitive your nose is, the size of your space and the number of cats, it may not be a HUGE deal, but it’s definitely an issue regardless. Imagine having to run to scoop the box after each of your cats poops. One cat, ok. 3 cats? That’s a lot of scooping. 3. The pellet system also can get messy. On the pellets. On the scooper. Wish they came up with a way to make the pellets absorbent or dehydrate the poop a bit to keep it from being sticky but No such luck. And if they get loose stools forget about it. 4. The waste/environment factor. Much like using disposable diapers, I felt guilty every time I’d put in a new pad knowing that I was adding my non biodegradable trash to the landfill. So, there you go. If you have one cat I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Otherwise you may want to consider something else or at least don’t have as high hopes for this. HTH! … more

I can't seem to run out of good things to say about this product. It was super easy to assemble. I like the look and size of the box. I haven't gotten far enough to fully clean it, but it looks like it would be easy to deep clean as well, as it all comes apart. I can take the pad drawer out to rinse/wash it periodically. The only issue I've had (one time) is when I took the tray out to wash it, my kitty used the box! Other than that, it's easy to use and maintain.

I love that I don't have sand all over my house! My cats are having a hard time adjusting..they still want to go in the old box. Instructions say not to clean the old box so they are forced to go in the new box..apparently my cats don't care how dirty the box is.( I DO!) I'll give them another week and then I'm yanking that box. It could be my fault I have been cleaning the box just not as often.
