Transition Instructions

  • Place a cat pad, soft side up, in the drawer. Slide the drawer into the base. Fill the top portion of the box with one package of litter pellets.
  • Put stool and/or urine clumps from your previous litter box onto the litter pellets in the Breeze litter box. This helps your cat understand that Breeze is her new litter box.
  • Place the Breeze litter box next to your previous litter box, and let your cat have access to both boxes. Please stop cleaning your previous litter box.
  • After 2-3 days, remove your previous litter box.
  • Dos and Don'ts: Most cats need time to adjusts to the change in their litter. During the transition, please help your cat by observing the following: Do be patient. The Breeze litter box is very different from traditional litters, and some cats may take longer than others to make the switch. Don't force your cat into the Breeze litter box. Let her explore the new box on her own. It's important that your cat chooses to use the new box on her own. forcing her into the Breeze litter box could frighten her, and she may avoid using it altogether. Do set up your new Breeze litter box right next to your previous litter box. Putting your Breeze litter box in the same location helps to minimize the change your cat is experiencing. Don't hover around the Breeze litter box. Give your cat a chance to explore it on her own. Even cats prefer a little privacy when they are doing their business!

Tidy Cats Breeze Cat Litter Box System is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 406.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from NO MORE LITTER (3 "OLDER" CATS)! I have 3 cats (8, 10 and 14) and I was constantly sweeping up, brushing off, vacuuming something. The litter just gets everywhere. My sister uses this for a single cat, and after reading the reviews I decided to try to integrate one box. It took several weeks of putting a layer of litter across the top of the pellets. They, of course, would sift through to the tray below. I just pulled out the tray and sprinkled the litter back on top. Adding a little bit of "business" from the old box was necessary. Be sure to watch the video and read the transition help. Eventually, I put down a 2nd pellet box and left one of the old boxes and stopped cleaning it. That lasted a few more days, then I just picked up the old one and threw it out. I do have one kitty that has left a gift outside the box a couple times, but I realize that the pad underneath needed changing. The box LOOKS clean, but stay on top of the pads (odor they can detect). I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It seems to work great, could be a little bigger so. We changed our older litter box over to this one, because I got tired of litter tracking throughout the house and all the dust. Tried many different ones by now and have to say this is the best so far!!! Would give it a 5 star, if it would be a bit bigger in size. We have 3 kitties and even so none is really overweight, the boys have a hard time turning, but are getting used to it. One missed completely one time and we had a mess outside the box, but this only happens ones and never again so far. They took to the new litter box right away and seem to like it a lot. The litter doesn't track or dust whatsoever and for that I give it a 5 star!! The poop does stay on top and I was afraid that the next kitty would step into it, so I added another bag to it, so they can burry it a little bit and that seems to help. We do clean it out 2x a day and if I am home and see big business I just scoop it up. Changed the lower tray liner after one week, even with 3 kitties it didn't not smell up the bathroom!!! Way to go!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving no litter tracking! I bought this litter box system purely to stop the litter tracking. I had tried all the best cat mats and still always had litter everywhere. I was a little concerned my cats would not like the pellets, but they transitioned with no problem! I was a little impatient, didn't follow the instructions exactly, but I just put the system out and put some of my cat's waste into the new box and they started using right away. I've got 2 cats and now have 2 of the Breeze cat boxes and no regular litter boxes. I love, love, love, not seeing litter everywhere. Occasionally, a pellet comes out and occasionally I notice a smell.. This is mainly because I don't have a way to shut off the cat boxes from the rest of my apartment. If you had a laundry room or somewhere to put the box out of the way it would be ideal. I just sprinkle some baking soda and burn a scented candle when the smell bothers me. I've been using this system for almost a month now and so far this has totally been worth the investment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea...Terrible design This product sounds like it should be the holy grail of litter boxes...sadly it is far from that. The urine smell that encompasses the room that the box is located in is unbearable. Even changing the pee pad daily the smell is overwhelming. I tried to give it a few days but ultimately just couldn't stand the smell. I have read other reviews that said adding additional pellets to cover more of the drain holes...tried it by adding additional pellets from an extra bag I purchased. Ultimately, the box and all of the extras I've purchased were a huge waste of money and I have no way to return them as they have been opened. I have gone back to the tried and true clumping litter! As far as the cat learning to use this is did take some patience and once the old box was removed they were fine with the transition. The only nice quality of this product is that the pellets don't scatter over the floor like regular litter however my cat did try to eat a few.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light weight cat option I recently switched to the Breeze system. It took my two cats about two weeks to adapt to the new system, but now it works well. i have issues with lifting heavy kitty litter into a large litter box. I was using a clumping litter, so it was difficult to use that in the Breeze system. The litter was so fine that it flowed through to the pad underneath and got caught in the grid system. It was a pain to clean. If you are using clumping litter, you might want to mix the Breeze litter into the clumping litter in your regular cat box rather than the other way around and gradually add less clumping and more of the Breeze litter. Now that we are over to the Breeze box, it is requires much less time to clean the box each day. The poop is clearly on top and noticeable, while with clumping litter, I might need to dig for it. I also am probably going to have to change the pad two or three times a week. My cats are prolific at peeing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from new review I am reviewing again after I have had this system for 6 months. like the poor ratings, all is true. cat pee pads are gross and have to replace a lot. pellets still on carpet, it stinks, pellets leave the box with the poop, expensive. I did buy alot of generic items to use, they worked the same and cheaper, but then decided not to use the box anymore for reasons above. now I'm stuck with tons of pee pads and pellets.\ I spent a lot more money on an automatic self cleaning litter box that's electric and I absolutely love it. have had this one for months and all three cats use one box. a rake goes back and forth to pick up pee and poop and pushes all of it into a covered container!!! it starts doing this 20 minutes after a dropping due to sensors. barely any scooping from me and easy to dump out the container and does not smell. try one of these!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsanitary and difficult to clean In concept, this is a great idea. However, for more than a few cats it gets costly (double what we spend on litter) to refill the pellets and pads. There is also no easy way to disinfect it. I dump and sanitize boxes weekly. With how much in pellets we were going through there would have to be an easy way to sanitize tray and pellets. Plus, I believe is says the pellets last a month in it. That's just gross to go an entire month without a good wash. If your kitty doesn't have perfectly formed stool be careful. In addition to the slots there are also grooves along the outer edge. If it sticks to anything else you are trying to get it out of the slots, get the covered litter pellets out and clean underneath. I had a sick cat and just gave up and switched back to my regular boxes. I can't even imagine what full blown diarrhea would be like. I wished there was a satisfaction guarantee because I spent a lot of money to use these very briefly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously, this system is astounding! We bought the Breeze system because we knew we'd be adopting a cat from a shelter soon but didn't want to deal with the mess of cleaning up stray clay litter pieces and the "dust" smell that comes with clay litter. I was a little worried about whether the new cat would adjust to the new system or whether we'd need a "traditional" litter box system plus the new Breeze system for him to transition to as he got settled -- our adopted cat put my mind at ease within less than 2 mins of being in our house! He went straight to the Breeze box and peed. He's been using it for a week now and I have absolutely no complaints. There is NO odor from his urine and only rarely is there a stray pellet or two on the floor (probably from his vigorous covering). Absolutely no complaints. Even when you're right over the box to scoop out solids. The Breeze system is honestly everything I hoped it would be and exceeded my expectations! If you're considering purchasing it for your feline friends, I would highly encourage you to give it a try!
