I’ve used a manual nail trimmer for my lab since he was a puppy. It was always a chore and I made him bleed more times than I care to admit due to his anxiety of getting his nails done. I received this grinder the other day and introduced my 12 year old guy to it. He was curious but not afraid. Within 5 minutes I was grinding his nails and he was laying down relaxed while I worked on him. This is a game changer!

I am an elderly woman who has rescued an older border collie female. Other than the massive amounts of hair that I vacuum off of her, the main issue is her nails. Somewhere along the way she's had a traumatic experience with having her nails shortened. I had a nail grinder before, but it didn't have the LED lights on it. That makes a world of difference for me. An old lady with a black dog trying to shorten nails is not a good scenario without some kind of light. I love this. She doesn't, but she has allowed me to slowly work on her nails. I have nothing but good to say about this device.

I received these as a Christmas gift for my dog. She has black nails and it tends to be really hard knowing where you’re cutting with clippers. These are definitely a safer option. I like the 6 speed options for versatility, and the LED light is a great addition to ensure the area is clearly visible. I’m very happy with these trimmers and look forward to my dog no longer having sharp nails after a trim.

I was looking for something more powerful, and quiet would be nice, too. I found this after watching videos on learning to do the nails at home. This has worked so well and it is so much more powerful and quieter than our previous one. We were even able to grind nails on the dogs that have never really had grinding before. Glad I found this! thank you.

Right out of the box: I ran a test run after receiving the product and was pleased with the result. My boy is very tolerant of having his nails dremeled, but there was no change in demeanor with this tool. That being said, my old dremel would start to cause us both fatigue after even one paw for weekly nail trims. This tool has a great grinder head, so far, that made quick work of his nail we ran a test on. With this being so quick, I want to mention that you should always check your tool’s temperatures when using them on any living creature. Since these grinding heads make quick work of nails, I’d recommend bouncing the grinder against the nail to avoid too any scalding. That is my cautious pet parent advice. The light is bright and in a good place from what I can tell, as it was more of a bonus to the tool for me. I like that this tool also comes with a cap and has a flat base, making it way easier to store than my old, standby dremel. The tool feels good in the hand when working and I thoroughly enjoy not fighting a cord. Note: If you need the tool to be quieter, I’ve found that using the top of the grinding head is much quieter than the face. I will leave another review once I have fully done the dogs’, rabbit’s, and guinea pigs’ nails with this tool. Again, very thankful for a cordless tool to use on my pigs who love to try and bite my old dremel’s cord in protest.

Not quiet

This is only quiet if the definitions for quiet and loud have been swapped around. In theory the grinder is safer than nail clippers, but that theory doesn’t work

This is only quiet if the definitions for quiet and loud have been swapped around. In theory the grinder is safer than nail clippers, but that theory doesn’t work out when you have a dog who won’t let you near them with the grinder because the grinder is too loud.

As a dog groomer nails are the hardest thing to do on most dogs. Dremeling is always better than clipping for several reasons. When I tried this dremel/grinder the difference was amazing. I was able to grind nails of dogs I’ve had a hard time doing with another dremel. It’s quiet it’s quick and the dogs tolerate much better. A definite thumbs up!
