Works well for my groomer-averse dog
By Sara on Mar 8, 2021
I've struggled with caring for my dog's nails since I got him as a 1.5 year old rescue. He does NOT like clippers (plus he has dark nails so it's hard to see the wick). We had success with a grinder for a little while, but he's grown to really hate even the sight of it. I recently stumbled across this file and figured why not try it, since it's not pricy at all. He seems to be doing really well with it! His nails are thick so it takes a while, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all, so I'm calling it a success!

works okay!
By hollis on Apr 11, 2021
It's a fine product, but the grain is pretty fine. Good for rounding edges but not good for trying to keep up with nails (which I was- my dog has a dew claw that grows in a circle, so it's really difficult to clip).

Good Results
By Harmony on Feb 27, 2021
My dog chews her nails, even after professional grooming. I needed something to smooth out the rough edges, between grooming appointments and this is prefect. It smooths out the rough edges effortlessly. It does not bother my dog and is very effective. Well made.

Huge help for hard nails!
By Karen on Jan 17, 2021
My 60lb dog truly hates having her nails trimmed. They are black, thick, hard nails and she is completely uncooperative. This file was a huge help in trying to get her nails shortened. It doesn't bother her much and it is rough enough to actually file her hard nails. Very glad I tried this.

I was disappointed, it does not work near as easily as it was portrayed.

So sorry these are out of stock!
By Chris on Jul 20, 2020
These nail files are the best! I have used mine for five or six years now, and I find them safe and effective. My dog's nails are easy to keep shaped and smooth between trips to the groomer, and I have even started to use the Safari on my own nail now that I am doing my own manicures at home. I highly recommend this product. I bought my first file at a pet store that no longer carries them because they were so popular that their in-house groomer objected to the sales. So I was delighted to find that Chewy has them. I hope they come back in stock soon since I want another file to keep upstairs!

Great for thick, tough nails
By Mari on Aug 19, 2020
My GSD has the world's thickest nails and this holds up to them really well. I use a grinder to trim and then smooth out the edges so that he doesn't destroy my feet when he eventually dances on top of them. It also works really well for midweek touch ups when his nails get frayed or split. Good product and great price!

Good nail file
By Charlie on Apr 2, 2020
I have not been able to use this much, really hard to get a 9 week old puppy to sit still long enough to cut her nails and then to file down too. When I was able to use it then it works good.
