Suitable for the largest of cats or small dogs (Yorkshire Terriers, Pekinese, Dachshund etc).
Self lining to 2-inches thick.
Four-way lock for security. A brush strip reduces the amount of force needed to open it and allows for almost silent operation. Available in white and brown and easily installed. Great for larger cats or small dogs.
We recently built a “catio” off the back of our house and needed a way for the cats to get in and out. We bought a cat door from amazon and it broke within 2 days then we were forced to wear bugspray i doors because we couldn’t get it to close. I ordered this and although it’s not actually meant for a window, a little hot glue did the trick and it works perfectly. The door is strong enough to keep the flap closed and bugs out, but easy enough for even our tinniest cat to push to get in and out. This is perfect!

I purchased this product (Cat Mate 75283 ref: 221w) because it has a replaceable flap. I was hoping it would be large enough to cover the hole in my door from a previous PetSafe 89196 cat doors. Happy to report that it is just barely (2-3mm) big enough to cover the edges of the cut out I made for the petsafe door. You can see the outline of the old door in my photos. I had to slightly enlarge the bottom corner area as this door is more square and the old door was rounder. I've had two of the old doors, both of them were broken by having a cat run through them while locked. It destroys the flap. At least this way I can just get a new flap if it happens again.

It looks very nice in the solid lower portion of my screen door.
I liked how the PetSafe doors use bolts and nuts to connect, this only uses screws into the outer plastic frame. It should be fine as there is not a lot of stress on that, time will tell. I like how the door is transparent, previous door was frosted except for the very center around the name. Cats will be able to see what is on the other side with this one.
There is a gasket on the exterior portion that is hidden once attached to the screen door. I like that because the PetSafe door was leaking and there was moss growing in the cut out.
Installation was simple, I was a little confused at some of the pictures on the cut out template, but found they were explained by the written directions in the bag with the screws and then they made good sense. (t) stands for thickness, btw.
Overall, I am pleased with this product.… more
Open Door for Two

Super for two cats going to their basement box without opening the access door. Only problem it may be difficult to install for the average person with no shop experience. You must cut through the door with shop tools and line up properly.
The new door man is a big success with our three cats.

We installed one on each bedroom door. No more getting out of bed to let the cats in or out.
Easy to install. Has all the features I required for a pet door.
Included screws are junk

I really struggled installing this door through the siding of my garage due to the screws included. The door includes three sets of screws, none of which worked with my 1/2" siding (too short or too long). On top of that, one screw broke in half while I was screwing it in. They are made of really soft, weak metal. The door itself seems fine for the price, but would it kill the company to include decent screws? A half hour job, took 3 times as long as it should have due to the crappy screws.

This was about a 20 min install. We installed this in a 2" solid wood door going into our garage so it took a little bit longer to cut through. Fit perfectly using the templet and after "pushing" our 17lb cat through a couple of times he is now happily going into the garage to use his litter box. We do not use the locks, but have tried them and they appear to be very secure. Love it, no more litter box in the house!

My friend installed this. My cats are confused by the door. It’s excellent though. The door swings then I guess a magnet just stops it. My cats are ten plus years so one just stood outside it meowing to get through. I caved in after five minutes cause he knows I can’t sleep without him next to me. I don’t know what size dog would fit through this but for the price it’s a great buy

one of the four latchs jams which makes the whole lock and open operation non functioning.
Too small for 12 lb., 14" tall dog; refused to go through it .

This seems to be a well-made product, but better suited for a cat or a very small dog. My dog could fit through it with help from both sides, but it was not a pleasant experience. I think the problem was that she would have to go in feet first.
This is a great door.

We have used this particular brand and style of door for many years. We have had to replace the door maybe 3 or 4 time it the past 25 years, but it has served its purpose well. The latches eventually wear out and quit staying in place. We have quite a few cats and the door gets a LOT of use. It is not noisy, the clear door makes timid cats happier about using it, and the weatherstripping is good to keep the wind out.
