Can the Cat Mate Wall Liner be used alone, without a cat door/flap, as a portal from one room to another? I want my cats to have access to two bedrooms and don't need cat flap to close them out.

The wall liner is not designed to be used without attaching it to the Cat Mate Lockable Cat Flap/Door with Door Liner or Cat Mate 4-Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner.

This liner is compatible with Cat Mate’s Lockable Cat Flap, Lockable Cat Flap/Door with Door Liner, 4-Way Locking Cat Flap, 4-Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner, and 4-Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner.

How many of these will I need for a 4” wall if I buy the cat door with the liner?

If the thickness of the wall is 2 - 4 inches you will need 1 Cat Mate Wall Liner. If the thickness of the wall is 4 - 6 inches you will need 2 Cat Mate Wall Liners.

Is this wall liner compatible with Cat Mate Large Cat Flap 221W? If not which item is?

Cat Mate do not currently produce a wall liner for the 221W, 221B, or 221WD. In the installation guide they do have instructions for using plywood or other rigid building material to create a frame within the wall to attach the door directly to, as this provides a sturdier installation that is better suited for use by larger cats and small dogs.

Great price and met our needs

No bell and whistles, but perfect for our needs since it was installed in a wall leading out to a screened in patio so there was no concern about other animals gaining

I spent a good 30 minutes texting with the advice on your web site trying to order the correct insert to match the cat door I got. I was really disappointed that

I spent a good 30 minutes texting with the advice on your web site trying to order the correct insert to match the cat door I got. I was really disappointed that I got the wrong one. I HOPE this one will fit, but I won’t know til it arrives. Why would a customer buy this part in the same order if they didn’t match? Why wasn’t the help line able to help me more efficiently. I found it very difficult. I also have no idea how to return the incorrect part, so I’ll have to track all that down. I much prefer to shop local and in person!

excellent accessory and perfect fit

I was annoyed that Chewy blocked me from ordering more of these, and as a result I just ended up getting them directly from the distributor in Texas. It is absurd

I was annoyed that Chewy blocked me from ordering more of these, and as a result I just ended up getting them directly from the distributor in Texas. It is absurd to carry these doors, either large or small versions, and NOT have these extensions in stock or even plan to reorder them apparently.

Does NOT fit!

After receiving this item along with the cat door, we discovered the cat door is too small. I purchased 2 doors and was able to give one away. this wall liner
