Is this purr mechanism replaceable? Meaning can these be bought separately? And what size batteries are in this?

Answer by ChewySep 27, 2022
The purr mechanism is replaceable but the battery only, however we do not sell the mechanism separate from the toy. As for the battery the only information we have is that it's a Alkaline battery.

How long does this last?

Answer by ChewyMay 04, 2021
The sloth Purr Pillow is designed to provide a familiar, soothing cat purr that lasts 2 minutes each time the toy is squeezed or cuddled.

I bought this hoping to comfort my grieving cat after his bonded brother died suddenly. I also bought him a stuffed cat with a heartbeat. I just received the chewy package and opened it. My cat was already napping on his cat tree so I put this purring toy next to him and turned it on. He instantly reacted to it, and also the heartbeat toy. He moved from his shelf on the cat tree to his brother's spot. So I put the toys next to him and he is napping with them. He gave this purring sloth a bath before falling asleep with them. I'm really glad I bought this as I can tell it is giving him some comfort.

Dead Batteries

I bought two, one for each of my cats. The batteries were dead in one of the toys (Yes, the batteries were included) but the other worked. This isn't too much

I bought two, one for each of my cats. The batteries were dead in one of the toys (Yes, the batteries were included) but the other worked. This isn't too much of an issue in and of itself, but the toy's vibration feature doesn't last very long. It only lasts a few minutes and my cats aren't able to turn it back on by themselves and I bought it so they would be able to calm themselves when we were not home and when they were separated from each other before their surgeries.

I adopted a male kitten from a shelter

In the past, I ordered one of these, but I ordered the purple kitten which I had no problems with. So today this gets delivered I open it up and I push the mechanism

In the past, I ordered one of these, but I ordered the purple kitten which I had no problems with. So today this gets delivered I open it up and I push the mechanism that’s supposed to make this thing per and it doesn’t work. So I’m gonna ask for a replacement and hopefully it doesn’t take two weeks to get it.

I'd been interested in one of these plush purring toys for a while. I purchased 2 of these since it had such good reviews. Initially, I was disappointed as it definitely does not sound like a purr. It's a snoring sound and a little louder than I expected. I'm not sure how comforting it would be to kittens. However, my cats (youngest of which are just about 1 year old) do still like it. They're intrigued by the sound and like to carry it around. I think it triggers more of a hunting instinct rather than a comforting feeling, but they still like it so ultimately it wasn't money wasted.

Not really a purring sound

Doesn’t sound like purring. It’s not a soft sound either. Jessie was interested in it for about an hour and that was it.

My cat micah didn't like the purring, so i removed the battery and replaced it with catnip. Now she loves it!
