Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

Note - My fetch player does not overheat so my review is more focused on the ball's playability. If you have a dog that does overheat do consider trying this ball. We have Chuckit! Ultra and Glow balls in regular use at my home - both loved by dogs and people alike, so I wanted to try this version as well. The open form of this ball does allow for more airflow for the dog carrying it (Ultra has no holes, Glow has a hole through the middle of the ball). This makes the ball also significantly lighter. It does not fly as far, does not bounce as high, and it is much quieter (barest sound on concrete, often no sound at all when falling on grass/leaves and none when in the air - Ultra hits the "loudest" and Glow whistles somewhat when it flies). My dog often overruns this ball. He takes off when I raise the launcher but the ball does not go as far as he is used to and often it has fallen, bounced and stopped before he turns around giving me the "hurry up and throw look". So my fun, watching him catch a bouncing ball at a full run across the field and seeing the joy on his face as he comes running back, is diminished. I think his fun is less too (he certainly gets less exercise/running with this ball). My dog does love the feel of the ball though (he likes to carry balls around even without fetch) and does choose it occasionally from his stash for play.
I am not sure why so many complaints about this ball not being good for chewers. My boy has had this same ball since November twenty seventeen at the age of nine months and is a very aggressive chewer and it is his favorite ball. He has all the chuckit balls and this is the only one he chews and gnaws on consistently. It holds up well to my now five year old Malinois.
I’ve only had my Finn for two weeks now (Brittany mix). He seemed to like tennis balls, would chase after them, pick them up but then drop them to run. I bought this and he LOVES it! The design lets him breathe while he’s running, it’s lightweight, and easy for him to grab and hold. It collapses but he has a gentle mouth and just likes to carry it. He returns it every time. It’s also easy to throw and goes pretty far without the launcher. Excellent buy for my boy - we’ve been having so much fun with this ball!
My dog absolutely loves this ball and whenever we are playing fetch I do feel like is not as worn out due to her being able to breathe through the ball a little better
So our dogs really love this. Keep stealing items from one another and hiding them. Had to order replacement when I couldn't find it (figured it might have gotten baled up during hay season) but then Laddie had buried it and dug it up. Gus stole one and took it to his hiding place. Most of the time I can find them because they are bright. Bought these as outdoors toys.
The ball itself is good and sturdy, but I ordered an extra large and was expecting a much larger ball the one I received is only a little larger than a baseball
Had a small ball with doodle as a puppy. Doodle chewed his small ball into after 2 years, so we upgraded to a large ball and he loves it. The ball works as a fetch ball or as a treat ball when we leave our Doodle at home alone.
Our Golden found one in the dog park. He mostly just likes tennis balls, but he played with this one. A great toy, until he started to chew it up. There is no protecting anything from his teeth, but I'm going to buy a few more.
This ball is the best value we have found. Price of each is great but freight is a little high.
I have the chuck it balls and the tosser thingy, lol . So, since my dog loved it so much I bought this extra large for inside the house. Our weather and been in the triple digits, way to hot to be running. He absolutely loves this ball.
