Expired by 3 months

Noticed the bag smelled a bit funny and my energetic golden retriever began itching badly and was lethargic. Reading reviews I notice another individual state theirs was expired - we received 8/31 and expiration was 5/31/23. Chewy responded right away and is sending a replacement but I am now weary if it is a brand issue! Check expirations!

Country Vet Naturals

I had a skinny German Shepherd and a chubby Golden Retriever. Come to find out the food I had them on was a bit calorie dense. That would be fine for my German Shepherd but he didn’t eat enough because of his anxiety level. After they were both neutered my Golden put on 20 lbs! No one ever told me about the Golden Slow Metabolism and to adjust his diet. Plus it was fall when they had their surgery. But the surgery did nothing to put weight on my GSD. I was talking to the scheduler at my DR’s office and she told me she bred Goldens and Labs. I asked what she fed them and briefly I told her my problems I was having with my dogs weight issues. She recommended Country Vet Naturals and told me Chewy carried it. Well I switched and my German Shepherd is now the weight he should be in the mid 80’s and the Golden is in the mid 90’s still needing to lose a bit.. but he isn’t over 100! They are healthy and have beautiful glossy coats and are active dogs! They are both on different formulas with no grain but use brown rice I’m very pleased with this Dog Food!

Seems to be good

We have a dog with a chicken allergy and had been on a grain free diet. With the new research about grain free, our vet recommended changing food. I was wary, because the sensitive boy has a sensitive tummy and has had digestive issues when trying new foods before. It took him a bit to actually eat the new food (instead of picking around it) and it took him a bit longer to poop but now that it's been about a month, he seems to be doing fine. He's only puked once since switching (I know this would normally be something not worth celebrating but he used to puke like every week. Again, very sensitive boy who also eats whatever he finds lol).

Perfect for poultry-sensitive pups

One of my dogs throws up if she eats any poultry. Finding poultry-free options at affordable price points on store shelves was Mission Impossible. Even foods marked "no chicken!" right on the label would contain chicken byproducts. Thank god for this food. All three of my dogs love it and my girl no longer gets sick.

Can’t ask for better kibble

It’s always a gamble switching your dogs’ food but my girl is allergic to chicken and I realized that what we were giving her had chicken meal in it. Thanks to Chewy’s filters, I was easily able to find something without chicken and it turns out the price was better what we were getting before. Then the real test came: the dogs gobbled it up!

Got it and it expired 4 months before it arrived, it was stinky and gave my dog itching problems from the rancid ingredients. Don’t buy, and check the date if you do. Boo on Chewy for shipping this out.

Was hoping she would love it

Mixed with current food was hoping that my girl (Aussie) would love it, unfortunately that is not the case. She has been eating around the Naturals bits and picking out her previous food. I so want to find Lexi a food that she is eager to eat but sadly this is not it.

fantastic for allergic itchy dog

One week of this food and my dog stopped itching. She has had red inflamed allergic skin all of her life. After five years of searching for relief for her, she is relieved!

Good Chicken-free dog food

My vet suggested my dog may be allergic to chicken so I tried this food. I'm still not sure chicken is her allergy but she likes this one and it is reasonably priced.
