FAQ

What is lotilaner, the active ingredient in Credelio?

Lotilaner is a member of the isoxazoline class of parasiticides. It has acaracidal and insecticidal activity, and acts as an inhibitor of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)–gated chloride channels (GABACls).

Can Credelio be given to dogs with food allergies?

Credelio tablets are made with a beef flavoring containing pork liver and soy but no actual beef. Tablets also contain barley, wheat and lactose. Consult your veterinarian before using in dogs with food allergies to pork, soy, barley, wheat or lactose.

What is the acceptability/ palatability of Credelio

In a field trial, the acceptability of credelio was tested at 10 different locations across the u.s. 94% of dogs accepted Credelio from the hand, in the bowl or with food. The remaining 6% accepted Credelio when placed in the mouth. There were no reports of unsuccessful dosing.

The positive control in the u.s. field trial was Nexgard® (afoxolaner). Acceptability results were very similar, with only 4% reaching the “placed in mouth” stage. Also, Nexgard had no reports of unsuccessful dosing.

What is the shelf life of Credelio?

Please reference the individual packaging of Credelio for the expiration date.

How long does a Credelio tablet remain stable outside the blister pack?

No stability testing has been performed on tablets once they have been removed from the blister pack. We do not recommend taking the tablets out of the blister pack for storage in another container. Credelio tablets should only be taken out of the blister pack at the time of dosing.

Is Credelio gluten-free?

Yes, Credelio is considered gluten-free.

    New Rx for my dog

    By on

I needed a new Rx of Credelio for my dog. I had never used Chewy for medicines. It was a seamless process. They contacted my vet and got the Rx needed. Within a few days, I had my product. Their prices are always very fair also.

Made my dog SICK for days

    By on

DO NOT GIVE THIS TO YOUR PUPS. I have a lab terrier mix so she’s a big puppy she’s 4 months old and I was told by my vet that this medicine was safe for puppies. I gave it to my baby girl at noon and 2 hrs later she was bloated and lethargic. She couldn’t sleep through the night and wouldn’t touch her food when she finally ate she threw up multiple times and wouldn’t even touch water after that.

    Flea and Tick medication

    By on

We first tried Credelio as a sample from our vet. It was convenient to order it through Chewy and they made sure our Vet approved the prescription. Our dog has had skin irritations from flea collars, drops on the back of the neck, and vomitting from other chewables, but Credelio was readily chewed up and he didn't have digestion problems and it works.

Works great easy to give! Not a problem with fleas or ticks. We live near the woods and most didn’t work.

    Great service

    By on

Put my order in with Vet info, Chewy contacted the Vet, and we are on auto ship for our puppy's Credelio, which the first time out was a great deal cheaper then the vet, even the rest of the orders will be too, we will continue with Chewy until their prices meet our Vets then we will move on, yet for some reason I don't think this will happen...delivery was quick within 1 week....keep up the good work

Does not repel fleas and ticks, kills only after biting

    By on

This medication only kills fleas and ticks after they have bitten the dog, so it protects them not you. This medication does not repel fleas and ticks, so they can still ride around on your dog, right into your house and then jump on you. This has happened to us. Switching to a flea and tick repelling medication

    not effective against ticks

    By on

I've been walking my dogs on trails and at parks lately. One of them keeps picking up ticks. He is 13 pounds. I gave him a pill about 36 hours ago and none of the ticks on him have dropped off. In fact, they are becoming engorged. This is my first time trying this product and I don't think I'll buy it again.
