How does this hold up in the rain?

Does this suet need to be refrigerated?

Refrigeration is not necessary. The manufacturer suggests storing in a cool, dry place, away from chemicals or pesticides. They have not tested storing in the refrigerator. Some consumers have shared that they do like to store their suet in a spare refrigerator or freezer, especially if they buy a larger qty. Sometimes this helps keep the insects or rodents out of it, for a long period of time.

what is the size of the suet cakes?

These are 4.9 inches high x 4.9 inches wide x 1.3 inches deep.

Does each suet cake state that the protein content is 9%? or is it printed only on the box?

My backyard birds love this in the summertime and I appreciate that it's the only one I have found that truly is no melt in the heat. I have tried several other brands that say no melt, but then I look out into the yard a few hours later and there it sits in a melty pool on the ground. This one does not do that, it truly keeps its shape until they've nibbled it all up. It doesn't work as well for us in the fall/winter though, I think whatever formula keeps it from melting may make it a bit too hard when it's cold and the birds seem to stay away from it then. So I switch to a different suet cake when the weather drops to cooler temps.

Quality greatly decreased

I have been purchasing this suet for a few years or more and my birds used to love it. The past 2-3 months the quality has been terrible. The cakes are very dry,

I have been purchasing this suet for a few years or more and my birds used to love it. The past 2-3 months the quality has been terrible. The cakes are very dry, have some weird white film on them and no bird in my yard will eat them. Not even the starlings.....who eat anything in my yard. I will no longer be purchasing these and will get a different brand.

We love to watch all of the birds in the yard enjoy the suet when we put it in the bird feeders. We especially love the no melt in the summer time.
