Dakota has been on Apoquel in the past with so-so results considering the high price. Not saying it doesn’t relieve his itch but he can only be dosed once every 24 hours and typically the itch comes back by the five-hour mark which leaves him uncomfortable until the next day and a new pill is given. Our vet recommended trialing Cyclosporine again for two weeks and freezing the pills to offset any GI issues since although it’s been helpful in the past, he was left with soft stool that not even a prescription strength probiotic could clear. Within 48 hours of receiving this medication and starting it, he had to be rushed to the vet today for antibiotics and probiotics with a plan to recheck in a week. I don’t know why he had such a severe reaction and I’m hoping this is a temporary problem but I will never use this medication for him again. I don’t know if something happened to it in transit considering it was delivered in a baggie instead of the original box made by the manufacturer or even a regular pill bottle but I’m not happy right now. And I hope my dog will be ok.

I am having trouble getting Regan to ingest the generic form of this medication. I was able to hide the non-generic capsule in cheese, meat, peanut butter, etc. even though it had a slight skunky odor. However, the odor in the generic form of this medication is much stronger and no matter what I disguise the capsule in, she will not eat it. She just spits the capsule back out. .I am sad because this medication was the only medication that truly helped Regan with regard to her itching. Not sure what to do.

I ordered these thinking they were CAPSULES in a pill bottle, as shown. However, they are the foil-wrapped "gel-caps" or gel tablets that are a pain to open and administer. They were delivered onto the front porch in the hot sun, where they sat for at least an hour. This medication is temperature sensitive, and is lifesaving for my pet. I need it to be RIGHT. Chewy still has not answered my inquiries as to how this heat affected the pills. They just keep offering for me to send them back. Well, I can't do that because he needs something to take right now, not when you get around to customer service.

Because these are gel caplets, they cannot be broken in half to make it easier to eat as they get spit out from pill pockets or food. They're also not coated so they stick to the back of my dog's throat causing me to have to push them down her throat with my finger. Very unpleasant for both of us.

My Baylee was diagnosed with Protein Loosing Enteropathy (PLE) in August of this year and this was one of two treatment options the Vet recommended. Although the Cyclosporine definitely reduced the fluids accumulating in her abdomen, it made here extremely weak, and her loss of appetite had only gotten worse. All this within just shy of a week of her starting the medication. She also seemed to be in pain do to the medicine. We have stopped using it and will try the other option the doctor recommended.

Price

It was nicely packaged in one zip lock bag making it easy to store as opposed to 3 awkward boxes I would get from another place.

Very detailed labeling instructions

The prescription label specified to keep the RX in the freezer and to wear gloves while handling. I then had a lengthy conversation with the regarding these instructions

IT WORKS!

Working better than Apoquel and Cytopoint combined! Took a few weeks to really get the full benefit but it's cut down licking by at least 80% if not more.

This is the first medicine of any type that my dog doesn't reject. A large part of it is that it doesn't smell like chemicals, which she's quickly detected with other Rx. It also doesn't have bizarre flavor options (marshmallow? Really??), which means the chicken-flava pill pocket is working. Her conditon is rapidly improving now that she actually takes the capsule.
