Remember to keep plenty of fresh water available to your pet at all times.
When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet’s new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

We have 2 mini schnauzers. One got severe pancreatitis after being on a high quality food with fish oil in it. Thought I was helping his itchy skin, which is due to environmental allergies. However, over the years, it proved to be too high fat for his pancreas. Vet said to put them both on the lowest fat food I could find. Diamond Naturals was it and continues to be the lowest fat. It's been 5 years and not a single issue with either of our dogs. We hope Diamond Naturals continues this formula for a very long time.
This is the only low fat and ingredient deck my dog can have. There is no substitute out there. I have Diamond Naturals "LIGHT" Lamb meal and Rice dog food on autoship every 3 weeks. My issue has now become supply shortage and "Out of Stock" thru Chewy leaving me scrambling to find elsewhere before running out. Chewy doesn't reserve product inventory for autoships orders pior to non-auto ships. Very disappointed and will need to hopefully find a reliable source or start hording this food. I'm feeding my two large dogs and also order this for my brother's large dog. All three love it and healthy on it!
I bought to try for an over weight dog- too soon to tell if any difference, but she likes the food and has no problem with digestion...so time will tell....
Any other light foods my dog thinks I’m poisoning him!!! He eats this Lamb formula without a fuss. He has a very tender tummy and tolerates this good easily. We feed regular Diamond Naturals to our other dogs, just good kibble.
Diamond Natural Light Dry dog food is okay. At first Patches was all for it, now we sprinkle a little cheese on it. She has gotten very finicky and wants a toping on everything.
After learning that one of two dogs has allergies to almost EVERYTHING. Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice was determined to be ok. Fast forward a few years and both dogs have to be put on diets because we spoil them too much. If that's possible. So Diamond Naturals Light Lamb & Rice to the rescue. Both dogs LOVE it and will eat it happily without anything added in!!
I've been using this food for one of my dogs for the last 5 years? Before that probably Purina and Ranch hound, but this is the only one that doesn't upset her stomach. She had chronic soft poops but this brand works best for her, now she has good poops and I couldn't be happier about it.
This is a good diet for my chunky little girl. She seems to like it and is very healthy.
Dog needs low protein food, so I wanted to try this one. He eats a little of it, but mostly he doesn’t like it. I will have to look for something else. A shame because it’s not cheap.
I was feeding Natural Balance Limited Ingredients Lamb and Rice to my ShihPoo girls, and they loved it; however, they need to lose weight so I decided to try a light lamb and rice formula. To my delight, they absolutely love it. I pour some hot water over the food and let sit for about 3 minutes. Hopefully, they will start shedding off their excess weight. I’m happy with this food so far.
