Perfect for Training
Everyone should have a 5-foot line in their training arsenal. This has been a lifesaver for off-leash training at our local off-leash trail. It’s nothing fancy, so you’ll have to take care to avoid rug burn if your dog runs fast or pulls hard. But in general, we let it slide along behind our pup and use it to reel him in if he goes too far off trail, gets too far ahead, or needs help disengaging from a greeting with another dog. Sturdy and hasn’t let me down.
Totally recommend handling with gardening gloves or something! Not for long walks but I have seen people do it However, we have 2 to help with recall training in town. We have also used one to tie both dogs out with us when we are grilling and stuff in common areas that allows the dogs more freedom to play without getting too far off. We used one in the house for a while to help train our older dog not to jump the patio when the door was open, and it still gave her almost complete run of the apartment. They work perfectly for these activities, but I don’t like how rough they are.
I bought in Dec preparing to rescue a pup in January. Used it until today when my 48lb border collie heeler mix bent the clip and got loose. I would say don't use it for bigger dogs and maybe less active medium sized. My pup is extremely active and at times did pull on end wanting to go further when her ball or Frisbee did get tossed just out of reach.
Love the leashes
I bought 2 of these, one for each of my dogs and they love it! If you live in the country or have anywhere with wide open space these are amazing! I bought the 50 foot leads but even just the 25 would probably be plenty. I wish I could just let my dogs loose on my property but I’m so afraid they would end up in the road and get hit by a car. They love to run but they are much faster than me so I love hooking them up to these leads and letting them go at their own paces. We use shorter leashes for our regular walks still, but these long ones are a fun treat for them.
I had intended to contact Chewy about this purchase, and you offered the perfect opportunity! I thought this leash to be very stiff when I got it so I washed it first, even then the first time out I had it wrapped around my hand to let it out when we got to open ground. The first time I did it cut two fingers, bad enough to bleed. It was so stiff & sharp I wouldn't recommend this brand.
Not great, she broke it within a month of use
My dog is currently 50lbs and she broke this within a month. She didn't chew it, but rather pulled and snapped it.
I bought the 50 foot lead and it is definitely NOT cotton, it is made of Nylon or polyester, It will burn if slips through your hand. That is why cotton is prefered.
I purchased this training lead to train for Agility with my 6 month old. 23 pound, border collie. I received it yesterday. We went out this morning. When I we were practicing floor bumps he got the zoomies as puppies do. He went under a dog walk and POOF! was loose and running. 5 minutes....thats it...and done. Luckily straight for my other dogs. The lead broke in two! All it hit was the legs of the walk. Not happy with this product at all!
The best for training or letting the dog run on lead
It’s a strong web lead. Great for 100 lb plus dogs Tis highly visible, high quality but everything on chewy is great. I highly recommend this lead
Snapped. In half
1st time really having him on it. It snapped in half and he ended up running into the street
