About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

When my dog (catahoula/pointer mix) started presenting allergies to grains I went to a raw diet which helped (we already new he was allergic to fish since a baby), then his allergies got worse and he became allergic to chicken and lamb. I became concerned because I couldn't get him balanced and his allergies made it almost impossible to feed raw in an affordable way in my area, so I started the hunt for a complete food that met my values and standards as a raw feeder. This led me to Zignature and I don't regret it! I admin a dog allergy group and recommend this food any chance I get as do others! This led me to Zignature and I don't regret it! I admin a dog allergy group and recommend this food any chance I get as do others! The ltd ingredient, single protein, whole ingredient approach makes it so easy to mix and match as well as feel confident that my pup is safe from triggers that tend to be hidden in many commercial "ltd ingredient" foods. My picky eater loves it, I currently have him on 4 different kinds (kangaroo, pork, duck, venison) because the recipe is so stable I don't have to worry about his system getting upset. Part of the raw feeding mantra is the more variety the better and I'm glad I can still provide that for my boy. His switch over was also 100% smooth and he had 0 digestive upset. His ears are clear, he's always excited to eat, and his tummy is always happy unless he eats something he's not suppose to! I feed kangaroo and pork dry (2 - 2.25 cups a day in various ratios) and will mix in duck and/or venison wet. Not too much where it actually matters as far as his intake for the day, but enough to where he's getting the benefits. I think we'll be getting duck dry at some point as well. I plan on feeding every dog I ever get this food! … more

Never would I have thought that Kangaroo food would please our Bichon. He loves it and we are a happy mom and dad. Actually, he also likes the Pork Zignature dog food. He is almost 13 years old and has always been picky about his food, but we are so glad he likes the Zignature brand. Also, we like the company Chewy...wonderful service and any problems they are right there to take care of it.

  • GREAT TASTE

    By on

I American Bulldog has allergies and I have ventured out to try something potato free / grain free. When switching over from potato / rabbit, she was thrilled. She even ate by herself. We are still on this trial food, so I can't say much about it except it gives my AB gas. Wow wee! Hopefully, when her system gets straight, that will come under wraps. Other than that, I am excited about her new food and can't wait to see if this is the right food for her.

  • Best food for skin & digestive issues

Comet has been plagued with allergies since 10 weeks old. In 2 years he was at the vet 17 times for some allergy or another. He is allergic to outside environmental things, seasonal allergies and chicken! The problem is almost every other food has some chicken in it, but since he has been on the Kangaroo food the is doing great! He really likes it and he tolerates it very well.

  • My dog loves kangaroo!

    By on

I recently purchased Zignature Kangaroo dog food and my dog loves it! He's suffered with extreme allergies since his birth 6 years ago. He's been through allergy testing and the few things he was not allergic to during that test he is now allergic to most of those also. Kangaroo was one of the few things he could eat. I saw this brand on your website and decided to try it. He's doing great and we are happy! Thanks for a great product!

  • No more ear infections

    By on

My 2 YO Labradoodle has struggled with ear infections since birth. We knew he was in a lot of pain and it was causing some hearing issues. My vet suggested we feed him Kangaroo due to a possible food allergy. His ears have cleared up and we have had no problems since. It is expensive food but the vet bill every month was really starting to add up. We love ZIGNATURE!!!!!

  • Game changer for Boxer pup with sensitive tummy/skin allergies!

    By on

I cannot recommend this food enough. Our Boxer mix is about 1.5 years old and he's had stomach issues since he was 3 months old. We tried several grain-free and prescription foods with different proteins (usually a combination of both), but after phasing out the prescription food he'd always go back to having loose stool. He also has itchy skin and we really wanted to avoid allergy medication if possible. We switched him to the Zignature kangaroo in December and he's had no stomach issues since. We've also noticed he is less itchy/his coat is much softer. No to mention, he loves it!

  • Best choice for your dog's sensitive stomach

    By on

I usually don't leave reviews, but this food deserves it. Our 7 month frenchie had tried at least 6 different brands, including RX foods, such as Hills i/d, RC hydrolyzed food, and none of them worked. His stool was always soft, mushy, sometimes liquid. Until we tried Zignature Kangaroo, we did the 7 day transition and we started seeing the results at the 5th day. His stool has never been so firm, and his coat is also showing improvements. If you have a dog with a sensitive stomach or IBD, you must give it a try!

  • Great food for dogs with allergies!!

    By on

I have been searching for years for a solution to my dogs chronic ear issues, and her itching and licking. Kangaroo formula by zignature was recommended by the owner of a pet store. Within one week using this food, and adding goats milk once daily, we saw huge results!! Her ears have cleared up, and her itching and licking has decreased by about 90%.
