Do these help with scratches on the floor?

While it is possible that Dr. Buzby's ToeGrips Dog Nail Grips may help, there is no official research in this area. However, on young, active dogs, ToeGrips won't stay on well. They were designed for senior and special needs dogs, "walkers," not "runners."

How do you determine the size?

Measuring the nails is an essential, one-time process for each patient. Improperly sized, ToeGrips may quickly fall off or migrate into the nail bed. For best results, nails should be appropriately trimmed before sizing and applying ToeGrips. To measure, follow these following steps: Step 1: Wrap a piece of dental floss around the midshaft of the toenail. Step 2: Hold the floss, wrapped around the nail circumference, with one hand. Step 3: Use a Sharpie® to mark across both pieces of floss. This will generate two points. Step 4: Stretch the floss and measure the distance between the two points in millimeters. Step 5: Repeat for all weight-bearing nails on one front and one back paw. Step 6: Based on the range of measurements obtained (not the average), use the chart below to select the proper size. Occasionally, a dog may require a combination of two sizes.

Can I glue them? If so do you sell the glue amd how does that application work

The nail grip does not use glue. It slides over nails and has a gentle grip.

Expensive rubber tubing

For the price, they could have doubled the amount, 20 to 40, include a few of the next larger size because of difference in nail size, and include a tube of super glue. If you can get them on correctly, nail size and grip compatible, they stay fairly well. Lost 4 first day, hard to find. Glued 4 back on, had ZERO left. They do help my 19 yo Westie walk on hard floors w/o slipping as much. Lost 2 more. Going to hardware store to get more tubing ( $2/ft vs $36/5”).

They just didn't work for us

I wanted for these to work so badly and they came recommended by our vet, who uses them on his own dog. Unfortunately for us it was just too hard to get them on

I wanted for these to work so badly and they came recommended by our vet, who uses them on his own dog. Unfortunately for us it was just too hard to get them on our dog's nails properly, so they all fell off within a day. Our dog is normally very tolerant of having her feet handled, and perhaps it was my technique, but she wouldn't let me spend the time to get each nail grip on properly. They were not as pliant as I thought they'd be.

Want to love but so expensive!

These are helping our elderly rott/lab mix a ton! He frequently slips on hard floors. They fit good after following directions. However, after about a week of use, they start popping off. Luckily we usually find them and pop them back on. But they're too expensive to be ordering all the time. Not sure why they're so expensive for such a tiny simple item.

Impressed so far

I got these for my senior Border Collie with arthritis. My vet recommended them and I was sceptical, but they seem to work so far! I followed the instructional video

I got these for my senior Border Collie with arthritis. My vet recommended them and I was sceptical, but they seem to work so far! I followed the instructional video that came with them. They were easy to put on, and have stayed in place all day- even walking outside in the snow. I was also pleasantly surprised to see they didn't bother my girl at all... Like she seriously has not even acknowledged them...I thought there might be an adjustment period but nope, doesn't when know they are there! I've only had them for a day so it will be interesting to see if my opinion changes but so far so good!

Cut my dog's paw pad and became partially embedded

The toegrips seemed to really help my large mixed breed dog initially. She did have an easier time getting up. I measured multiple of her toe nails twice and made sure I ordered the right size. I keep my dogs nails pretty short and one of them cut her pad underneath. Her pad swelled and the band was partially embedded. We had to use a dremel to cut the band on the top of her nail to remove it. Hopefully this doesn't become a vet visit in the next day or two. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

Although I measured the nails prior purchasing, I could not get them on. I reached out to Dr. Buzby's and they have been amazing - they're sending me the next size

I don't know yet how well they will work for Atlas but any company offering this level of customer care deserves all the stars.

Works OK, costs way too much

My daughter suggested these to me for my senior dog who slips and seems very nervous on our hardwood floor. I saw a lot of videos and it like it would be helpful

My daughter suggested these to me for my senior dog who slips and seems very nervous on our hardwood floor. I saw a lot of videos and it like it would be helpful. I was very surprised when I got them that they seemed so cheap. I figured if they made a bigdifference for my dog, it would be well worth the money. They started falling off by the very next day. They were very snug to get on her nails so I don’t believe we ordered ones that were too big. It’s only been three or days since we put them on and she’s missing about half of them. I think I’m going to just get grippy socks instead.

Bought these for my senior dog on the advice of our veterinarian. I was skeptical but they really do work! He can walk across slippery wood floors without any hesitation, sliding, or panicking He can stand up faster as well since his feet don’t slip and slide all over. We used to have throw rugs everywhere because he was scared to walk on bare floors - they are no longer needed! I’m very happy with this purchase and highly recommend!

Big improvement!

My senior pit mix has been having progressive hind weakness due to disc degeneration, so I have tried pretty much everything to help her out. These are a game changer

My senior pit mix has been having progressive hind weakness due to disc degeneration, so I have tried pretty much everything to help her out. These are a game changer. They are a bit on the expensive side, so I tend to use the new grips on her hind paws and the used ones on the front, which works great. Best advice I can give: manage your expectations! You may feel like there's not much difference, but when you're between sets you'll see how much that extra bit of stability counts.

Didn't work

The videos showing before and after are fake. These did not help my dog grip better. The dog's nails have to be pretty long for these to work. Mine fell off all
