Ingredient Information

Feeding Instructions

Vet Formulated with Quality Ingredients

This high-protein food naturally optimizes your cat’s body mass and appetite levels through simple, high-quality ingredients. With added vitamins, minerals, and other trace nutrients, cleanprotein helps support cats in all stages of life.

Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein

Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein was inspired by the protein levels found in natural prey. By excluding plants commonly found in other cat diets, it has low oxalate to help ensure healthy kidney function and an active lifestyle.

The Kibble Cats Love

Protein is an important nutritional profile in your cat’s diet, with animal proteins having the highest biological values (BV) compared to grains, fruits, and vegetables. Dr. Elsey’s cleanprotein helps promote a healthy, active lifestyle for all cats.

The Proof is in the Protein

As cats age, they absorb and metabolize protein less efficiently. That’s why it’s so important to feed high-quality protein. High protein can help maintain lean body mass and support a healthy immune system.

About Dr. Elsey’s

Dr. Elsey’s is a veterinarian-owned brand dedicated to meeting the complex needs of cats. Founded in 1987 with the first all-natural clumping cat litter, their line has since grown to include a variety of products for cats at every stage of life.

I have 5 cats and 2 Love it so far. It has a wide base, wide post and wide top which makes it good and sturdy. I bought one thats a little cheaper and they dont have much interest in it as these. I hope my 15 yo cat likes the smaller one since he cant jump as high. I say spend the extra for this. Its worth it!!

One selling factor for this kibble is that it's grain free. I thought our diabetic cat would enjoy a change from her chicken kibble, but she's not bothered. Our youngest, though, loves this new flavor and eats it up when we set it out. The middle cat is just kind of "meh" about it, but he's just kind of "meh" about the chicken and the rabbit kibble we offer, too.

My cats were getting elderly and I believe one of them was developing diabetes, he was peeing a lot. So I took a deep dive into cat food and discovered that most cat is terrible for cats, even supposedly healthy brands. I started feeding them low carbohydrate wet food (Fancy Feast Pate is a good inexpensive option), but that was difficult feeding wet food only. I did a bunch of research and came across Dr. Elsey's, so I purchased it and my cats like it. My elderly male cat lost quite a bit of weight and has been fine for the last several years. It is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. My cats also don't seem to eat as much of the low/no carb Dr. Elsey's.

Venus loves this (and all the other flavors). It was love at first bite. At first, she thought it was a treat. Then she literally ignored her high-carb kibble. I will say one of my cats won't eat it, but I'm giving it five stars because the one who needs lower carb food is the one who loves it.

My diabetic kitty Loki actually likes this food! He mainly eats low carb wet food but wanted a food lower in carbs for when he refuses wet food. Low carb dry food is not easy to find! I have switched all my cats to Young Again and they all eat it well, but my picky diabetic Loki won’t eat it! I am so glad I found this food and that he likes it!

The bag was ripped and opened

Unfortunately, this baggage arrived ripped and food all over, I wouldn’t expect this for such end food. I had to pick up as much as possible. Very disappointed

They love the taste and I love no fillers!

Dr. Elsey’s is a low-carb kibble made without grains, gluten, etc. it’s made from meat, which is what cats are meant to eat. It’s perfect for my diabetic kitty,
