Description

Help your favorite feline get the most out of her meals with Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein wet cat food. Inspired by the nutrients a wild cat would naturally get from her prey, this formula helps your kitty achieve more than just a full belly—it enhances her appetite while delivering the nutrition she needs to thrive. The first ingredient is real duck, followed by turkey broth and turkey, which provide the high level of protein she'd typically hunt for. Added barley grass contributes extra fiber to her diet and may offer an extra boost to her digestive system. Plus, its 100 percent grain- and gluten-free—after all, cats wouldn't eat that stuff in the wild! With New Zealand green mussels, salmon oil and added vitamins, this nutrition-packed food helps to fuel your feline's adventures each and every day.

Key Benefits
  • Features real duck as the first ingredient to satisfy your carnivore's natural desire for meat.
  • Made without grain or gluten, so it's safe for many sensitive kitties.
  • Includes high-quality protein sources as the first four ingredients.
  • Felines love the smooth, savory pate formula—which naturally adds moisture to their routine!
  • Crafted with real ingredients and added vitamins and minerals, for a healthy meal without fillers.

    The Best Food For Health

    By txsgrl1 on Sep 21, 2021

Cookie, my 8 yr old Maine Coon, was suffering from a bladder stone 2 yrs ago which was healed with meds. The vet told me that this condition may return. That’s when I discovered Dr. Elsey’s Clean Protein. I’ve been feeding this food ever since. She LOVES it! On our recent visit to the vet, Cookie had an x-ray, urine & blood test. There was no sign of urinary issues & we got a clean bill of health. I attribute that to her diet.

OK, but I wish they would make more of their plain turkey formula

By Cait on Jan 7, 2021

My cats do still like this kind, but the phosphorous content is higher than the plain turkey formula- and we try to limit our girls phosphorus intake due to her kidney failure. This formula also seemed to have many more small chunks of bone than the other formula. I am not necessarily sure that is a bad thing though.. it stands to reason that a feral cat would eat small bones normally and digest them for calcium.

None of my kitties will eat this flavor :-(

    By catMom51 on Dec 1, 2020

Purchased this flavor because Dr. E's Turkey was out of stock & my IBD kitty cant eat chicken. Not only were almost half of the cans in the case dented, one had obvious swelling to the can and was immediately disposed of. Dented cans seems to be the norm these days and does not make me happy. Regardless of the dented can conditions, not one of my cats would eat this flavor -- even the cat who usually enjoys the Turkey flavor. YMMV but I will not buy this flavor again

    cuckoo for durkey

By MsMolly on Jan 17, 2021

Both of our purr-monsters love it. One is almost 20 and the other one is 7. They also liked the turkey, and were okay with the chicken, so maybe they are just not that picky? We mix with the Primal Nugget Chicken & Salmon.

    2nd choice

By Kitty on Nov 11, 2020

Thankfully my cat accepted this turkey/duck flavor with no problem as our 1st choice of turkey alone has been out of stock for weeks, which has me very worried about the future of Dr Elsey’s Cleanprotein. It is the best! also responsible for my cat’s stable diabetes and weight loss. Without artificial preservatives found in prescription diet food!

    Senior cats say, “Yum”!

    By Ralphscats on Jan 23, 2020 top1000Contributor

I mainly feed raw, but my seniors weren’t eating enough and needed something that was good for them and that they would actually eat. One has recently been diagnosed with CKD, so a low phosphorus food is a must. According to Dr. Elsey’s this food has a phosphorus content of 0.63% on a dry matter basis. My seniors gobbled this up and some of the other cats wanted some too. I will be putting this food in my rotation.

    my cats love this food

By Mareebzx on Jan 3, 2020

Since I have been feeding my cats this food, they seem much healthier. Their coats are shinier and they are more playful.

    My duck hater loved it.

    By Lauren5 on Jun 23, 2019

Bought the variety pack. My cat never eats duck. Except for this brand. She lapped it up. Couldn’t believe it. It did smell good and was very juicy. More like human grade duck not the usual pet food duck

    No go in our house

    By Juls on Mar 16, 2019 top500Contributor

None of the kitties like it. I was disappointed they like the clean protein dry food but that protein is chicken. None of the feral liked it either . It has enough juice and isn't hard a brick not sure why they left it.
