Help your favorite feline get the most out of her meals with Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein wet cat food. Inspired by the nutrients a wild cat would naturally get from her prey, this formula helps your kitty achieve more than just a full belly—it enhances her appetite while delivering the nutrition she needs to thrive. The first ingredient is real duck, followed by turkey broth and turkey, which provide the high level of protein she'd typically hunt for. Added barley grass contributes extra fiber to her diet and may offer an extra boost to her digestive system. Plus, its 100 percent grain- and gluten-free—after all, cats wouldn't eat that stuff in the wild! With New Zealand green mussels, salmon oil and added vitamins, this nutrition-packed food helps to fuel your feline's adventures each and every day.

For adult cats, feed 1 can per 6-8 lbs. of body weight per day. Kittens require up to two and a half times this amount. For pregnant and lactating females, feed up to three times the normal adult amount per day.
Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your cat. Food should be fed at room temperature.
Species appropriate, no artificial anything, and satisfying to my feline. We hung in there with Dr. Elseys through the pandemic and supply chain issues, and will keep coming back for more as long as they're making it and it keeps working for us. Happy, healthy, energized cat over here- no problems!
My 2 one yr old tabbies gobble this down. This product is very moist and favorable-so they say. I open the can and stir to evenly disburse the fat. Both cats like this more than the chicken.
My 15 year old cat was suffering from what appears to be a food allergy...she was throwing up every single day, if not 2x a day and she couldnt digest her hairballs. All bloodwork and exam were clear. I figured it had to be the food then. Fed her the Dr Elseys Duck and Turkey wet.....OMG she scarfed it down then ran around the house in complete joy! I haf never in my lofe seen her do that. And most importantly....no more puking. Thank you Dr. Elseys for saving my kitty Sapphie's life! Hope this will help her live to 22!! Please don't stop making this formula. We tried the other meats and she won't eat them.
My kitty loves this formula. Scarfs it down and licks plate clean. I open can and smells so good I bet I could even eat it in an apocalypse. Sadly, they changed the formula and only provide in 2.5 oz can....she won't eat it and has lost weight. When will they bring original formula back and 5.3 oz can?
Dr. Elsey's was suggested to me by a number of people with kitties suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). I tried it with my IBD kitty, but she didn't like the smell or texture. That being said, it does have very high quality ingredients and the novel proteins can be useful for allergy issues, so I still suggest this food.
Our cat isn't very keen on this food; it's much drier than I had expected, so we need to add three tablespoons of water to get him to eat any of it, and even then he does so reluctantly.
Cookie, my 8 yr old Maine Coon, was suffering from a bladder stone 2 yrs ago which was healed with meds. The vet told me that this condition may return. That’s when I discovered Dr. Elsey’s Clean Protein. I’ve been feeding this food ever since. She LOVES it! On our recent visit to the vet, Cookie had an x-ray, urine & blood test. There was no sign of urinary issues & we got a clean bill of health. I attribute that to her diet.
For the price it's very good! both my cats love it. Most importantly, my cat with sensitive stomach doesn't throw up!
My cats do still like this kind, but the phosphorous content is higher than the plain turkey formula- and we try to limit our girls phosphorus intake due to her kidney failure. This formula also seemed to have many more small chunks of bone than the other formula. I am not necessarily sure that is a bad thing though.. it stands to reason that a feral cat would eat small bones normally and digest them for calcium.
Purchased this flavor because Dr. E's Turkey was out of stock & my IBD kitty cant eat chicken. Not only were almost half of the cans in the case dented, one had obvious swelling to the can and was immediately disposed of. Dented cans seems to be the norm these days and does not make me happy. Regardless of the dented can conditions, not one of my cats would eat this flavor -- even the cat who usually enjoys the Turkey flavor. YMMV but I will not buy this flavor again
