Is this the same as the Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra just with a finer texture?
Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2020

How is this litter for tracking?
Answer by ChewyOct 01, 2020
Dr. Elsey's Paw Sensitive Multi-Cat Strength Cat Litter is low tracking.

Does this have a strong scent?
Answer by ChewySep 07, 2020
This litter does not contain any added fragrance.

Does the clay contain any sodium bentonite?
Answer by ChewyMar 03, 2021
All clumping litters are made from sodium bentonite, a form of clay. Premium scoopables, like Dr. Elsey's use 100% sodium bentonite to maximize clumping ability. Some clumping litters blend cheaper clays with bentonite and will break apart in the litter box.

I've had cats my entire life (50 years) and I've never used litter that works as well as this one. I'm not sure why some of the reviews are negative?? It's NOT at all dusty as others proclaim. This litter clumps like no other plus it's very soft. Is there truly a litter that doesn't track?? For the price, it's WORTH trying....bag or box who cares? It WORKS >^..^<

Love this litter!!

I have a declawed cat that is very sensitive and picky with litter!! She uses this litter without fail!! She loves it. And I don’t have to worry about it hurting her sensitive paws!! And my other cats use it great!! It’s very good with keeping odors down and it’s very much cost effective!!!

Extremely dusty variety!

I've been using this brand of litter for years. Very high quality. However, the Paw Sensitive variety is so terribly dusty. The cats come out of the litter box area covered in fine dust. I have an Austin air cleaner in the room where the litter boxes are and it's covered in dust. It can't keep up with it! I'm going back to other varieties of Dr. Elsey's.

Great Litter with one gripe

I adopted a fully declawed kitty who was having issues with his litter boxes. I’ve tried multiple cat litters, even natural ones, to no avail. I used Ökocat Super Soft wood clumping litter for about a year. He seemed to enjoy it, but it was a bit pricey for me. ($20 for 20lbs) So I searched Chewy and have heard great things about Dr. Elsey’s cat litter. I was debating on which type to get until I saw this one and thought purrfect because my cat has delicate paws due to his declawing. Fast forward to today and no more litter box issues! He loves this litter! It clumps nicely, has little to no dust, and the odor control is nice. It does tend to track everywhere though, but I recommend getting those cat litter mats that trap litter. My only gripe is that it comes in a bag, instead of a box, why? Please bring the boxes back instead of the bag.

Not the best

I tried this litter for 2 months and its just ok. If youre not right on top of cleaning it right after your cat goes (which is hard when you work out of the house 8 hours a day), the litter starts to smell very bad only after a week. It gets a sour smell to it which then makes my cats smell. I feel it tracks worse then other clay litter. Even with our litter boxes with the doors on them my cats still kicked a lot of it out and I think its because of its smaller granules. 1 bag was hardly enough to fill our jumbo litter boxes. The only good points are that I do feel it was better on the dust, I noticed less of it when pouring, more of it when scooping. And it clumped very well. It didn't stick at all to the bottom of the litter box.

I will never buy another litter again

I rescued a declawed kitty from the pound. Now that he's older, he was having issues with not wanting to use the box to poop. I tried everything and finally stumbled upon the winning combo. This litter and the senior box (and being diligent about scooping). I have no complaints at all with this litter. No odor issues...but then I scoop the box 2-3 times a day, right after he uses it if I'm home. He appreciates having clean boxes.

Issues with this particular one

I have been using Dr Elsey litter for a very long time. I thought to try this one. But, it gets stuck on my cats paws unlike any of the other ones It’s not as good as the other litter by Elsey I am having a hard time removing it from my cats paw pads. Use any of the other choices from this brand

Dust Clouds

I tried this because my cat has been having some out-of-the-box issues that she'd never had in the past. I think it's okay on her paws, but I breath in a dust-cloud every time I clean it. Just checked and it doesn't have their usual "99% dust-free" label. Now I know what to look for. I used Dr. Elsey's Touch of Grass happily for a long time, until my cat started having issues. But this one doesn't work for me.

Stuck in their Paws

Did not like this litter. I thought my elderly cat had hurt her leg jumping off the couch. After looking at her leg I noticed she had cat litter stuck in her paws. It was spreading all of her poor toes out as far as they could stretch and it was hard like a dry clump of clay. Had to soak her feet in water (no fun!) to get it out. Looked at my other cats paws and hers were the same way. I like the Dr. Elsey's low tracking litter but it is so heavy I thought I would try a different one..

Seems Good for Sensitive Paws

My cat likes using it and I've liked its performance so far. There is some dust when initially pouring it in the litter box like with most non-pellet litter. But it settles and I don't notice much dust at all when scooping. It tracks a little near the box similar to regular dr elsey but my cats paws seem pretty clean and doesn't seem more than most litters, my mat by the box helps and I use a covered box which my cat has seemed comfortable with. I haven't noticed odor control issues. Though this is for multicats and I just have one cat with pretty impressive litter box habits (she's very organized and flexible but is a digger). My cat gas had some foot sore issues and this litter seems gentle for her paws. Tidy cats lightweight unscented tracked way too much and worlds best didn't control odor well in our experience. I think it's wonderful Dr. Elsey brand thought to develop a litter specific for sensitive paws. Most are marketed as soft on paws but it's not always the case. I'd recommend this litter in general and especially if your cat has had any paw issues.
