Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter

Phenomenal product!!! I have multiple cats and have tried multiple cat litters. This by far has out done all other top brand name litters. Price was not a concern for me and I have tried from the very in expensive to the very expensive litters. This litter has practically no dust, absorbs the odors of the feces and urine for multiple days. I deliberately held off from cleaning the litter for a full week to see how well it would work. It outlasted the top name brand litters by several days and had a minimal and I mean minimal smell after seven days. The cleanup was easy because of the clumps it created and they did not fall apart. Not to mention the fact that it did not smell nowhere near as Phenomenal product!!! I have multiple cats and have tried multiple cat litters. I’ve come to realize that the perfect clumping litter doesn’t exist- there will always be some amount of dust and tracking. After trying many litters, I do think this brand is the closest to perfect I’m gonna find. My cat rolls in her litter, but there is still minimal tracking with this brand— I think it might be related to the size of the particles. Although there’s some dust when this litter is disturbed, I’ve found it to be much less than other brands. My cat has allergies and asthma, and her breathing is much improved since switching to this litter. It clumps well and I’ve never noticed any odors, so it must be doing a good job.

No matter what other litter I try, I always return to Dr. Elsey's unscented litter - either alone or combined with a new litter I'm trying. The odor control isn't as optimal as I might like, and the 40 pound bags are heavy (I have 5 cats). Like other clay litters, there is some dust when pouring. However, the fact is: the cats really prefer this litter to any other brand. I've also used Dr. Elsey's cat attract and kitten attract which are good for training. This truly is unscented, clumps well, and is a good value for the bag weight. I always have this on hand.

Other reviews say the pee clumps stick to the bottom of the pan, but I’ve only had this happen when the litter isn’t filled 2+ inches or the clump has been sitting for about a day (I scoop each litter box once a day, sometimes twice if they’ve used it more). Just keep the litter clean and you should be good. I switched from PrettyLitter to this because one of my cats started disliking the silica litter and stopped going to the bathroom inside the litter box :/ I have to change the litter out more often now but I prefer that to “accidents I use this for my three cats (one since she was a smaller kitten). Our local store was out of Stella's preferred brand of litter, so I nervously purchased Dr. Elsey's. Stella and I were pleasantly surprised at the lack of dust. This is important as Stella's litter box changer, I am asthmatic. I also noticed that I could go a little longer between full box changes. The litter did not smell nearly as bad as the other brand I was using. This is a win for the humans in our family as well as Stella, as she can be a bit of a brat. I never have much luck with the clumping, but this litter did as expected. All in all, we are quite pleased with our litter experience.

I’ve been using this litter for years - first buying it locally, then from Chewy. Something has changed. The litter in the last shipment I received isn’t clumping as well, and the odor control that used to be great is horrible. The litter also gets tracked out of the box a lot more now and I’m having to constantly sweep and vacuum up bits of litter. It took me a long time to find this litter that didn’t get tracked all over the house and that didn’t aggravate my asthma. Now I’ll have to start hunting for something new. Time to go to the store and look for some new possibilities.

I love how when I use it, it is easy to move around and does not get stuck in my paws. My mom loves it because there is no odor, even though I have stinky poos sometimes. Mom says it is easy to scoop. I love to use it right after she has cleaned the pan. She has recommended it to her friends that have kitties! Best of all Chewy delivers it right to our doorstep. No watching her lug it from the trunk through the garage and inside the house.

I found this litter to be very effective at odor control and very little dust. It also clumps together very well -- however, once it clumps it becomes extraordinarily heavy. And the larger clumps have broken a couple of the flimsier scoopers I had. It doesn't seem to track any more or less than the other brands I've tried, it seems most of them do it to some degree. As a senior not getting any stronger, I will go back to my previous brand, which unfortunately Chewy doesn't carry.

Ok , I read the other reviews and I have to agree with them on the smell factor , I have used this litter for two years now , everything great till my last three bags , I use the blue label , the litter is very very course , my cats don’t like using it, then the other bags are fine and dusty , and doesn’t control the smell at all , I change my 4 boxes once a month and disinfect them also, I hate to see a good product go bad , going to change .

My cat in old age was diagnosed with asthma. I'd been using a low-dust litter but switched to this one on the strength of other customer reviews. It helped him breathe more easily, and also cut down on me coughing when refilling the litter box. If you read the fine print on the package you'll find that the company's founder is a veterinarian and that the company's donated millions of dollars to cat and human welfare.
