I bought the Ocean Recipe becuase of the ingredients. I have 2 dogs, one that has multiple foods she's sensitive to. Unfortunately, neither dog likes this food and won't eat it. I should have tried a smaller bag. Oh well.
The food is packaged nicely & appears to be sealed better for freshness than many brands out there today----the food smells appetizing to this human when the bag was opened----oddly enough for a salmon based food it doesn't smell "fishy" (at least this bag doesn't)----our female has had recurring gastro issues no problems so far----good energy-good poop etc. it's to early to tell how their coats will (I'll update if I'm not happy)...... As a side note the kibble is small which means your small dog won't have a problem eating it.....i wish I could say your picky eater will love it--but I can't---we've owned many GSDs in the past some were SUPER picky...but these two Aussies have great appetites....
I have two French Bulldogs and one can be a picky eater, on top of already needing a carefully selected diet due to the breed. My not so picky eater puppy was given this before we brought her home so we continued to use it. She loooooves to eat, but when we discovered our other Frenchie really liked it too, we were all in! I have done a TON of research trying to find a healthier dry dog food that also agrees with our dog's stomachs and taste buds (it is just not feasible for us to do fresh or tailored). This meets all of our criteria! Even the fact that it is grain-free, which I have also read about the heart issues and connection to pea protein. This recipe does not include that ingredient. We also like to alternate/mix this recipe with Dr. Gary's Coldwater as well (not grain-free).
This is a very good food with great ingredients however, my finicky GSD refuses to eat it. Thankfully I bought the 4lb bag to try first, so I did not waste too much money. My dog is allergic to chicken, potatoes, and grains so it is very hard to find a protein that he likes and eats willingly. I had him on a turkey protein prior to trying this salmon protein. If your dog is not finicky, he may love this food.
I gave my dog this food at 10 months and after month 1 she threw up a dry pile of it so I’m switching her back to Puppy diet.
Great healthy formula. Will only order Dr Gary from now on
Awesome food! My picky eaters love it! Went thru environmental changes, foods, apoquel, supplements... this worked!
My female that is in whelp would not eat anything at the beginning of her pregnancy. A friend recommended Best Breed and she gobbled it down. My other dogs love it, as well.
Our dog loves this food, we have tried other brands this is the one she likes best.
I have 4 dogs that require high protein, high fat diets due to their activity level. They all love this food & theres no digestive issues. Best breed also meets all of my standards for a dog food since i won’t feed anything with artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes.
