We've been using this feed for over 2 years now. We tried 5 different traditional feeds from the big-name manufacturers, and it was diarrhea and choking on a regular basis. We bought the special senior feeds and soaked it, we tried the feed recommended by our vet, but nothing worked great for all 9 horses. We decided to try the Dr Pol feed when it was sold locally, and we had great success with it. It was great for the horses missing teeth, great for the horses with sensitive stomachs, and we had no diarrhea or choking problems anymore. It's been harder to find this feed since the local big box farm store stopped carrying it, but I am glad Chewy offers it. People laugh at me when I tell them what I am feeding, but I know this works and I've seen the results for myself for 2 years.

I purchase feed for 2 weeks at a time for a 4 horse herd. My herd has never been picky eaters and I've never had them completely refuse to eat until trying this feed. I slowly transitioned them over to this as recommended, however the less of their old feed (which was just an alfalfa based pellet and a balancer for minerals) the less interest they showed in eating. By the time we completely transitioned over all 4 horses were eating a few bites and walking away refusing to eat it. I called the phone number on the bag and the rep I spoke with stated that I couldn't get my money back without the proofs of purchase (receipt wasn't sufficient) and I had already thrown the bags out when I dumped feed. We have now been giving a 1/2 scoop mixed in with our normal feed just to use it up and if I try to feed more than that, they will go off their feed again. I was so hopeful as I really liked the ingredients and way these pellets break down and are more palatable, however it does me no good if they won't eat the product.
