How often can it be used on a dog?

Does the dilution made with this product end up being a 2% Chlorhexidine solution, or is the liquid in the bottle a 2% solution?

This topical cleaning solution is designed for use on horses and dogs for application to superficial cuts, abrasions or insect stings. It is not intended to be used as an all-purpose disinfectant.

To use as paw soak.. how much do I use in a small bowl. It says must be used with in 24. Hrs if diluted so a gallon mic would be a waste for dog paw soak.

For mixing the amount of water in an 8 ounce container of water, we would suggest you mix 2 milliliters of chlorhexidine into that 8 ounces to get a proportional mixture close to the prescribed dilution suggestion of an ounce to a gallon of water. Durvet does not have any shelf life data to support how long the diluted chlorhexidine is effective after you mix it with the prescribed water. We would suggest you mix a fresh batch prior to each use.

The insane fragrance makes this unusable for indoor use

Chlorhexidine is a great disinfectant that is safe to use on and around birds, but this formulation includes a fragrance, a fact that is not listed in the Chewy description for the gallon bottles. It is so nauseatingly overpowering that it cannot be used anywhere near birds, or indeed inside any indoor space no matter the dilution. I disinfected a mesh enclosure that I use for my indoor pigeon and had to leave it outside for a week and half before the smell would dissipate sufficiently. The blue dye is also totally unnecessary. All these unlisted ingredients (listed on the bottle, but not in the web description) make it unusable for topical use on pets.

This is the first time I used this product so I don’t have anything to compare it with. The vet recommended wipes, but they were very expensive and cash is tight

This is the first time I used this product so I don’t have anything to compare it with. The vet recommended wipes, but they were very expensive and cash is tight. Our need was allergy related. I put some in a spray bottle and sprayed his feet then wiped them off, which seemed to work really well, but my dog did not like it. I ended up using the flat make up cotton ball thing instead. Seems to work fine and for a similar price I have enough to last me a long time and I was able to gift a free bottled (the size that sells for only a little less) on buy nothing

yeasty skin be gone!

if your dog gets yeasty skin infections this is a life saver!! follow the directions for dilution, i put into a spray bottle and spray the affected areas.

It's great to have this on hand for when my dogs have any minor cuts or scrapes... It is VERY concentrated (and needs diluted before use), so a gallon goes a LONG
