AniMed Pure Brewers Yeast Comprehensive Powder Horse Supplement, 2-lb tub

Soo I adopted this puppy right. And he was away from his kosher at about 6 or 7 weeks old. So maybe that has something to do with it. He's very important to me, and has little to no issues. But the poor guy would just become riddled in hot spots. Itching constantly. Couldnt solve it, the vet couldn't tell me why they happened, all they could do is tell me how to help heal them. So I did get very good at controlling his skin issues. Find hair issue, shave all around spot, put booties on him so he can't scratch. But it was a miserable existence for the boy. And I understood better than most, because I've got major skin issues. So my poor baby was always hurting. Now not even a vet could recommend this to me. But here I am. Testifying to its importance and usefulness. When hes on this, one large scoop once a day, he stays nice and shiny coat and doesn't itch. If this is out of stock and I cant get it for a few weeks hotspots will appear. This allows my boy to live the life he should. Will never quit using brewer's years. Thank you sorry for the long winded review. Just had to impress how important its become, and maybe help other dog parents with similar issues.

My horse is allergic to bugs. I bought him last year, and after I realized why he was I started him on Animed Brewers Yeast. I implemented 3 scoops/day May-Oct, and 1 scoop/day all winter. I have to say, this winter he is far less itchy than when I bought him. Almost not itchy at all, and quite full of himself! (he's 6) He used to roll anywhere, anytime, cast or not he didn't care. Now he is focusing on other things. I'm eager to see what this next summer brings. Shipping from Chewy is occasionally a problem, as I order 2 tubs at a time, and they come in a good box with a bit of paper wrapping around the outside of both tubs, but the tubs can touch each other and knock the lid off. But when that doesn't happen, everything is great.

Please see my review on their Biotin product. As in Biotin it promotes growth an health of the hoof. This product has a bit of a bitter taste and smell, BUT I learned from a horse Surgical/Medical facility that you can use Unsweetened Applesauce to mask the bitterness and they will eat it without hesitation. If your horse like apples they will love this. Just 1/2 cup or so mixed in with the supplements and grain and there is no problem getting it down them. Maybe I am the only one that actually tries a tiny bit of my animals medication but I want to know why they are resisting it, then I can figure out how to make it more palatable instead of forcing it on them. It's better for them and easier on me. If Shazam is happier considering what he is going through, then I am happy. The object is to correct the problem but first find out what caused the problem. I supplement my horse', goats', and dog's feed with Animed brewer's yeast. Last year, I stopped supplementing the horse. Big mistake. He developed scratches / mud fever / greasy heel (pastern dermatitis). First time ever. Little did I know that brewer's yeast is recommended to prevent heel crud. After months of treatment (including going back on the brewer's yeast) the dermatitis has cleared up and he's doing well. Neither he nor my dog or I find the scent offensive. Even my goats (which are extremely sensitive to changes in feed) find it acceptable. It smells like beer, to me. My only wish would be that Chewy carry it in the 5lb size so I don't have to order it as often!
