I am transporting two adult cats 14 (lbs) from NY to OK. It’s a 23 hour ride I am doing in one shot. Is the 42 or 45” big enough for them. I have an SUV.

Answer by PomMomDec 14, 2023
You’d be better off using the 52”. I raised a mom with her 3 kittens, a litterbox, bed and scratching pad inside the 52” with no problems.

Does it tip over if the dogs jump on the sides?

I have other playpens. Some have the bottom with the (colored) fabric side facing up; the water resistant coated side (usually gray) facing down Others it the reverse. Pctures on chewy vs in instructions do not agree. Which way does the shiny, coated side face, and which way is the bottom panel?

Answer by ChewyApr 14, 2018
To zip the bottom onto the Playpen, the actual zipper parts should be on the outside of the pen, so the pet inside is not able to get to it easily.

How do I secure pet playpen outdoors?

Answer by ChewyFeb 20, 2018
This Playpen includes free ground stakes to secure the pen to the ground while outdoors.

We got this to travel with our 20lb dachshund. He has this in a larger version and is fine, but he can easily knock this one over by jumping on the side. He also is able to undo the zipper so we had to get a lock. We don’t really use it anymore because it’s a safety hazard with him being able to knock it over, but if you had a tiny dog they would be fine.

Ohh... Our Dachsund, Button, developed ivdd in his neck and needs to be kept from moving for up to 4 weeks. When we first got him, he had a crate he was kept in with his former owner, and then this "fencing" she would put up around that... It was not an ideal situation. Not to mention he hated the crate and wouldn't let us close the door. So. I got rid of that like a year ago. Fast forward to today, and his needing to be contained. I found this playpen and was able to use my chewy points to get it. I never imagined it would work this well. i've put blankets in it, and moved it from room to room with no problem. And he stays in it happily as he's healing. He even, once he was able to start walking again, walks into it and lets me zip up the gate with NO argument. Very grateful to have found this option.

This play pen worked perfectly to keep young puppies safe traveling across country. It was easy to assemble and put it into the back of an SUV so that pupies could stretch out. Some paper on the bottom gave them a temporary place to potty so they would not touch the ground. Once arrving at a hotel it worked perfectly to place on the bathroom floor for the puppies to play in and rest before a long plane trip. This folded up perfectly and fit into a big roller bag that was checked on the plane and ready for assembly into a rental SUV.

This was purchased for my adult cat for recovery after a fairly major surgery - she was supposed to be kept in a large dog kennel to keep her from jumping. This was so roomy she had her full size litter box, large bed and food/water, with plenty of room to spare. I could even get inside to hang out with her! The zip off top made it easy to scoop the litter and give her food & water. She spent 2 weeks in this, and it has held up to her claws and attempts to escape. I highly recommend for this use. I bought the largest size available.

The playpen has been a great success with our new puppy!! It is best for brief periods of playtime or naps. I would not recommend long periods or in place of a crate, it is not sturdy enough but works great for short periods as needed.

Easy to assemble and take down. We got the biggest one that Chewy sold and it fit an adult sized person and a tiny 2 pound kitten at the same time. Not only is it a great place to put a kitten, but it’s large enough to isolate sick pets or pets that need to be separated or have restricted movement.

It is perfect for the 5 baby kittens we have been bottle feeding. Enough room for cat beds, food and litter box and their rapidly growing little bodies.

This is a perfect size - one of her dog beds (medium size) fits perfectly, edge to edge in the playpen. The zip top makes it easy for me to reach in to deal with bedding, pet her to get her moving in the morning, whatever I need to do. After her older sister passed, she first wanted everything the same - but after a few months, Molly not being there made her unhappy. This let her have a new (different) “crate” in the same place. She walks right into it & curls up to sleep. We both love it! This might not work in place of a crate for a young or more active dog, or for training, but for my crate-trained senior beagle it is the perfect solution.

tiny dog scratched through immediately.

First it caved over and she got out. Then, after we buttressed, she just scratched right through the mesh, and then on to the table, and everywhere. Disaster.
