She seems to prefer it over the Field and Meadow flavor. I was initially wary to give her fish because of the presence of mercury and microplastics and because I read that tuna contributes to urinary blockages in cats, but but microplastics are in everything lately (probably in the other flavors as well) and while I want my cat to enjoy a long and satisfying life, I want her to have a good relationship with food as well. This seems to fit the bill. (Added photo not of my cat eating food, but of enjoying life and a silvervine stick.)

It is high protein with the first four ingredients are fish which cats naturally eat. A bit pricey but will keep buying it as it is their natural diet.

Disappointed

I used to switch my cat between the Air & Game Fowl recipe and Ranch & Meadow with no problems. A few months ago I started buying Orijen Guardian 8 since it’s another

I used to switch my cat between the Air & Game Fowl recipe and Ranch & Meadow with no problems. A few months ago I started buying Orijen Guardian 8 since it’s another high quality dry food with good ingredients, but eventually she started getting tired of it and began leaving a few pellets in her bowl. I figured it was time to switch it up again, and after seeing that Essence had a flavor she hadn’t tried I was sure she would like it (especially since seafood treats are her favorite). Needless to say, she leaves more food in her bowl than ever and her poop has been runny/ smelly ever since. Also, she’s started burping after she eats, which she hasn’t done with other foods. Of course not all cats are the same, but mine isn’t particularly picky when it comes to food. The true test came when I took the top off of her feeder to see her reaction (normally she tries to break into it to get more food), but this time she just sniffed around and got one piece out. I just ordered another bag of Orijen in hopes that eases her stomach, but $30 and an almost complete 4lb of food are going to waste.
