The can lids can go through the dishwasher on a regular cycle. They should not be exposed to high heat as it can deform the plastic and also make it less pliable. All Ethical Pet products are tested and cleared for harmful chemicals, and they all pass.

Are the lids made of plastic that can be recycled at a recycling facility?

Cheap for a reason

I wanted more can covers in rotation in our kitchen not only for my cat's food, but also for the occasional human food can. I purchased these to have on hand, and

I wanted more can covers in rotation in our kitchen not only for my cat's food, but also for the occasional human food can. I purchased these to have on hand, and wow, what a waste of $3. The plastic is soft and flexible, so it should snap on easily, but the lip that seals on the can curves in on itself, keeping it from actually seating nicely on the can. Only after extensive fiddling am I able to get a good seal, and the lid works fine after getting cold in the fridge, because the plastic firms up and isn't as prone to warping or curling with stress. Spend a little extra on better ones! The other two I have are a thicker plastic that snaps on easily, and has multiple ring sizes for different can types. These are only meant for one large size can (if they even go on at all!)

What cat food do these fit?

We use 2.8 oz, 3 oz, and 10 oz Fancy Feast, Weruva, Purina, and Nulu. These lids do not fit on any of these cans. Waste of money

Didn't fit cat food cans

These were difficult to put on cat food cans. It often took a few tries to get them to stick to the can, as the edges would slip off. They were too small and inflexible

Don't Buy if You Have Trouble with Your Hands!

I have MS and thus trouble with my hands - low dexterity, weakness. I can get the can lids on but only with great effort, several tries, and placing my hands firmly

I have MS and thus trouble with my hands - low dexterity, weakness. I can get the can lids on but only with great effort, several tries, and placing my hands firmly over one edge of lid at edge of can then working both my hands around the lid to top to snap it on. NOT easy. I have other can lids similar to this that are only made to go on one can. They go on easily, but I can't find any like them anymore. Only the ones like this one that fits more than one size can. I've tried the silicone ones that fit many different cans but they're hard for me too. Just in a different way. As usual, it's "Bring back the old style that worked so well but just isn't around anymore."
