Will this use a 5 gallon bottle?

This comes with a 3 litter bottle that is the only bottle intended to be used with the base.

Is the white cap supposed to stay on the bottle when in use? I am having a hard time getting the bottle out of the holder???

The fountain bowl can be used without the white cap.

Does it screw on or just sit on the bowl

The jug does not screw onto the bowl, it's nozzle will fit securely onto the base.

Works as intended

My cat loves to play in her water bowl so she tends to run out fast and I sometimes have to leave for a few days at a time to visit family. She loves this bowl because she can still play in the water but has more than enough to still drink and I have peace of mind knowing she’ll never run out! Easy set up and easy to clean. I do just wish that the bowl would separate from the connecting piece that holds the water jug for even easier cleaning but still love it!

love this and would buy more but it sticks too much

maybe after use it will be easier to get the bottle off the pan. The first time i tried to separate the two, I had to stick my hand up inside from the bowl area

The first time i tried to separate the two, I had to stick my hand up inside from the bowl area to help pry it apart to refill. it wasn't easy. When i replaced the bottle to the pan i didn't push it down as hard as the first time. Hoping it comes apart more easily next time. Of course we want it to not just fall off but this is more than secure. it became puzzle crux. Otherwise we love the concept of not having plastic bowls which can cause problems in a multicat home. We are fighting a mite issue. If this works we will buy more of these!!!!

My husband had to take something off of the bottle to make it work. I have to tilt the bottle to make it fill. The cats love it but it’s a real pain. I have to ck it several times a day. when they get kitty litter in it you have to take the bottle off to move it to the sink.

Horrible, Skip it

We bought a similar waterer years ago and love it. However, this one is almost impossible to remove the reservoir without a major fight. Not worth the effort.

Love the stainless steal
