How does the food come out?

As the kibble is consumed, kibble in the reservoir will naturally fall into the bowl.

Does it keep the bowl full without having to shake it? Is there a ramp inside so the food will fill the bowl without help?

The length of time the food lasts will vary, based on how much your pet(s) eats. The Small station can hold approximately 2 pounds of dry kibble and the Medium can hold close to 4 pounds.

Will not gravity refill.

It holds a lot of dry food but it does not refill. When my cat eats what is in the bowl it does not give anymore I have to pull out the food with my hand. Very disappointed!

I've had it for three months and it has never given any food out by gravity, have had to pull the food out by hand every time.

Not too big, not too small

This fills easily from the top by twisting the top lid--but, I hold the container down near the mouth of the feeder while I twist the lid or the container screws

This fills easily from the top by twisting the top lid--but, I hold the container down near the mouth of the feeder while I twist the lid or the container screws loose from the base. Not a big deal. This feeder is really easy to clean, I can easily get my hand up in the opening to scrub it. The stainless steel pan has eliminated the chin acne 2 of my cats had, so that was a bonus-seems the plastic bowl was causing that issue. Feeder was a good choice at a good price.

These are the same but different from what I use to have same brand. The front is opened more so the food slides out as they eat. I bought 4 of the 2 lb capacity

These are the same but different from what I use to have same brand. The front is opened more so the food slides out as they eat. I bought 4 of the 2 lb capacity for 2 cats, one feeder for chicken and 1 feeder for fish. they are good for 1 week of food ,and then some . Each cat has 2 feeding stations of these. Easy clean up , I soak for 5 minutes with bleach when they get cleaned. ( Cesar Millan recommends ). Metal base comes out .

My poor cat is not the smartest, so he needs a gravity flowing food bowl. Sadly this one doesn't flow consistently, and he can't figure out how to pry food from the back of the bowl, so he whines. Plus his human isn't that smart either, because its way harder than it needs to be to open the lid to refill the food!
