A Better Drink For Them, Better Design For Me
I had opted for a slightly lower-priced model from the same manufacturer but became disenchanted at how many sharp edges it had, and all of it so difficult to clean. This Creekside Quiet model has major components that are dishwasher safe, so I bought it to alternate with my original purchase, and I quickly realized it is superior in almost every way. Easy to clean, easy to assemble, and quiet in operation. It holds a generous amount, so I only need to top it off once a day. I located this fountain away from the food and into the vicinity of several potted plants, and my cats now seem to regard it as their jungle watering hole. The unit requires two filters, one a sort of pricey plastic harness which I've discovered you can put through the dishwasher successfully, and also a little covered cup that must be discarded. It is sold in a pack of four, and I wish it was offered in a bigger volume package since users will likely need to replace it during a weekly cleaning if they have more than one cat. I've decided that the ongoing outlay for filters will be offset by lower vet bills since my cats are now drinking adequately. If you're in the market for a fountain, I believe this one will prove worth the slightly higher price.
Very Disappointed with the quick Mold Growth
I received this as a gift for my two cats in April 2023. When I opened the box, the fountain was aesthetically pleasing. It seems to be good quality and was easy to assemble. This is the only reason I even gave it two stars. The huge problem for me is that it is not usable after 2-3 days (from a sanitary/health perspective). The pump and both filters start growing mold. If you do not check the filters and pump for cleaning, you will not know until you dissemble it and /or replace the filters. I tried to only use the pump filter and then I tried to only use the charcoal filter and still the same result. So, I tried using no filters and the same result, except now the mold would start floating around in the water, unless I completely clean everything with white vinegar and soap and water every couple of days. I was informed by the company that my product issue is not a considered a product defect. I was offered a price discount if I wanted to try another fountain. As of now, I am not going to take the chance on another fountain and will continue to explore “fixes” myself to see if I can solve this problem to make this a usable water fountain.

I've gone through so many fountains
I have two cats, one elderly and one kitten and they are both little turds who somehow get water fountains absolutely disgusting within a couple days. They also enjoy tipping the plastic fountains and this one has been a LIFE SAVER. Its super easy to clean and heavy enough that they don't tip it over. I bought the cleaning brush kit and it is very helpful, I love this fountain and the filters are on the more expensive side since you have to buy 2 different kinds for this fountain but with how clean the water stays I would say it is well worth it. It is very quiet as long as you keep it full, although this was not a concern for me.

Water pump broke after just two months
My cats loved this when we first got it, and I was impressed with the quality of the bowl itself. The water pump, however, is clearly cheaply made, as it broke within just the first two months of use. I kept up with cleaning and replacing the filter parts, and it still failed. There does not seem to be an option to replace only the pump, and I'm now stuck with 20 additional filter replacements as I bought in bulk. Essentially an overpriced ceramic bowl. Don't buy

Excellent brand and product
I have owned one of the other ceramic PetSafe fountains for a couple years now without any issues and needed another. Happily I found this version which is a bit smaller and a good bit cheaper but works well for the space. Quiet, simple and easy to clean. Motor and filters easy and cheap to replace as needed. All my cats love it, they prefer it over a bowl, encourages them to drink more. Highly recommend!

Five felines found this fountain fascinating!
We were worried about our Maine Coon. He loves faucets but tries to dismantle any fountain that looks like a faucet. He’s been very successful at doing so too. We’ve had to weigh them down, tape them together, hold the parts in place with elastic bands, you name it. This one is quiet so he doesn’t think of it as a faucet. He wasn’t sure what to make of it until one of our other rescues walked over and started drinking from the center column. Thomas took to it right away after that. We’re happy that it’s ceramic because some of our tribe have allergies to plastic, and because Thomas can’t just turn it over or walk off with it. It’s a winner in our house!
water pump broke
My elderly cat loooved this bowl so much. I have never seen him enjoy drinking water before. Three months of use and then the water pump broke. I kept up with regular cleaning and replacing of the filter… but the water pump still broke. Doesn’t seem to be an option to replace the pump, so this bowl is a waste of money.

Good fountain
My aging cat definitely loves this one. Only issue is having to change the filters every couple of weeks (be sure to order the correct filters!). But other than that it's working very well for our 3 cat household.

Terrific Water Fountain for Cats!
After much research I purchased the PetSafe Creekside Fountain a few months ago and wanted to give it time before I wrote a review. It took two months before my two cats started drinking from the fountain. Prior to this neither had shown any interest in drinking from flowing water at the sink. When I would turn the fountain on they would come over to see what the sound was and watch the water. They never appeared afraid of it, just curious. I tried floating ice cubes in the water and moving them around. Nothing was working then one day I noticed first one, then the other cat were drinking from the fountain. It is very quiet and you only hear a little sound when it first turns on. It's very easy to clean and change the filter. I do change the water and rinse it out every day to every other day as it just takes a couple of minutes. It's surprising how fast it becomes cloudy from their saliva, and cat hair falling in the fountain. The filter I change every couple of months as changing the water daily helps to keep the filter from getting clogged as quickly. The funny thing is they both drink from the back side closest to the wall, never from the middle, or front. For an item sitting on the floor it's attractive, and small enough to not be in the way. I'm very happy with it and highly recommend.

Helps with hydration
I recently moved and my kitty with kidney issues seemed to be more interested in drinking moving water in this house. We'd had a plastic fountain before but it got nasty quickly, was hard to clean, and neither cat used it as much as their bowls. They have both taken to this one and drink from it almost exclusively now. The filter seems to work well. It stays cleaner longer and I love that it is ceramic and so much easier to clean.
