Need better packaging--would not purchase online again

Would echo the other review about Evanger's poor packaging. The majority of the tins ended up arriving significantly dented whereas my Weruva cans were in perfect

I didn't like the consistency - dark brown paste, lacking chunks of beef as advertised. It didn't look appealing to me. After eating maybe a 1/4 of a can, my cat left the rest to harden until I gave it my dog the next day. He ate more of the Weruva low phosphorous (chicken), but not all & without enthusiasm. I buy him low phosphorous food because he's 15 and has CKD; but what is the point of prolonging his life by denying him the Fancy Feast he clearly prefers?

What happened to this very expensive food?!

There are very very limited options for wet food for cats with CKD and who need low phosphorus food. I reluctantly tried this and at first, the food looked and smelled

There are very very limited options for wet food for cats with CKD and who need low phosphorus food. I reluctantly tried this and at first, the food looked and smelled a little like actual beef stew. I had to skim the disgusting pieces of yellow fat off and throw it away but they ate it and seemed to like it. However, I just got another case of this food and could tell as soon as I opened the can that they changed this recipe. The quality is extremely poor now, with mostly waste from the animals (fat, gristle, large chunks of rubbery tendons, etc), disgusting disgusting. It even smells gross. I have to pick through the can to find anything edible and end up throwing away half the can and now my cats won’t touch it. But the price remains high! Shame on you, Evangers!

Not Pallatable

New formula (2025 issue)rejected by my cat. Looks different than 2024 issue, different texture. Offered several times and declined. Found a can from 2024 issue

tapeworm segments mixed in

8 out of the 8 that have been opened, have had tapeworm segments in the food. Very easy to identify. I have not noticed this in the others flavors I got.

Strong smell

Very fatty. My kitty ate some but wasn't too keen overall. This brand also made her poop smell badly.

They actually like it

Cheddar has refused to eat any of the prescription low phosphorus cat food, wet or dry. This is the only low phosphorus food he'll eat.

The phosphorus level is the same as any store brand!

I don't understand how they can get away with claiming this is low phosphorus. I wouldn't let my cat eat this, and stuck with the hills seared Tuna.

Cat threw up 5 minutes after eating

After my cat threw up almost instantly I did some digging on this food. Apparently there was issues back in 2017 with this pet food unsafe, dirty facilities. I can't

Vomit Everywhere

My 16 year old kitty, Mouse, has become VERY picky since being diagnosed with CKD. She refuses to eat the prescription diet wet foods, so I've been playing cat food roulette trying to find anything that she will eat. I was so hopeful about this food - when I opened the can, she immediately started begging! She ate half a can all at once for the first time in a long time... then within 5 minutes she projectile vomited it all over the room. I tried feeding her this on two occasions to make sure it was the food. Both times ended in vomit. I even set the remaining food outside for the strays to finish up and they also rejected the food all together. Awarding 3 stars - minus 2 for each times I had to clean up vomit. *eye roll* It may just be my cat's stomach but she certainly wanted to eat it. Or maybe it was a bad batch, because I also think I found some tiny black rubber pieces in it. I didn't think anything of it until just now when I saw some other person's review.
