What size is this kibble?
Answer by ChewyAug 18, 2018
The kibble is around the size of a large pea. I've attached a picture for reference.

Could you please tell me which ingredients are outsourced to which countries?
Answer by ChewyFeb 17, 2018
All meat for Evanger's recipes are sourced from here in the USA and cooked in their own kitchens. Evanger's sources 90% of ingredients from 50 miles within their Chicago location where they pack and manufacture the food.

When it says one ingredients is "beets", does this mean the red variety or sugar beets? Are any ingredients sourced from outside the USA?
Answer by ChewyNov 16, 2017
The beets used in this food are from red beetroots. Evanger's is still family owned and operated under Holly Sher, President of Evanger's. 90% of ingredients are sourced 50 miles within their Chicago location where they pack and manufacture the food, and the Taurine is sourced from Japan.

Highly recommended!

Charlie, my Pit Bull/Labrador mix, was having a problem with flakey skin. I tried several 'premium' foods to solve this, but had poor results. Then I found Evanger's Super Premium Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe, and after one 17lb bag, her coat has become soft, shiny, and flake free!! This is indeed a super premium food - it's great for the dog, inside and out! Charlie loves it and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Smells like cardboard

My dog would not even taste the food. Maybe its the brown rice but the food didn't smell enticing. He loves the Evanger's canned chicken and white rice food (enticingly smells like chicken broth) so I thought I'd try the dry food. I ended up donating the food and Chewy is processing a refund. I really appreciate their understanding.

Chevy’s favorite

My dog absolutely loves this food. He has a sensitive stomach and this is the perfect recipe for him. The ingredients are top notch and I feel confident that what I am feeding him is high quality and healthy.

Not good for our dogs

Something has changed with the food and all 3 of the dogs are not getting much out of it and are crapping 3 times as much. The Australian Shepherd is having skin and hair issues. Changed to a different food.

My picky dog loves it

good quality food with grain. Smaller size kibble which my dog likes better. she is a very picky kibble eater. I switch between this and the beef one that is grain free

Nothing funky in here! I needed a no soy no wheat no corn kibble to feed my Baxter who has had a bit of intestinal trouble, but I did not want a no grain kibble as those seem to be giving dogs lots of issues later on, This one is easily digestible for him, and he has had only good responses to it. I used it along with Diamond Naturals as a kibble mix, and when I give him a bowl with pumpkin and canned food mixed together and this kibble off to the side of that, he always goes for the kibble first! This is helping to give his irritated gut a gentle rest while giving him full on nutrition! And the kibble helps him feel fuller for longer than the canned food alone. I had three different vets all giving me conflicting instructions about helping Baxter feel better, all of course trying to pressure me on the pricey prescription foods, which I had tried and Bax refused to eat, but he loves this kibble, and the canned version of it as well, and the Diamonds Natural. His gut is healing and we are very happy with Evanger's!

Dog loves it!

Our dog loves it, only thing I can even say would be a slight problem is the kibble size for medium to large dogs is small.

Nothing special

Just regular food...dogs like it but it doesn’t seem that great.

I bought this because it looked like quality ingredients and the vet said to switch to dog food that doesn't have any peas, legumes, lentils, or potatoes due to recent studies that show this can cause issues in dogs. Then day two after starting to transition my dog to this food, I read reviews about the owner and the factory controls of this food. It's very sketchy and I wouldn't recommend this brand I threw it away immediately and will never buy from this brand again.

They Like It

This is my first time ordering Evanger's Chicken and Brown Rice for my two Aussies. I was concerned that the kibbles were quite small as I had been buying large kibble so my dogs would chew their food. I found that the small kibble worked very well with their slow down bowls as they had to work harder to get every kibble and they even chewed it up as they got each kibble. They like the taste. Stools are firm and gas problems have disappeared that I was having with a cheaper dog food. I was impressed that the bag came vacuum packed and the inside of the bag is fully lined to prevent absorption of moisture. I was disappointed in the delivery. though. I have a screened-in porch in the front of my house and instead of putting the box inside the porch protected from the weather, the delivery person put it on the sidewalk outside the porch blocking the door. We were on vacation and not due to be home for another 3 days. Luckily, I received an email informing me of the impending delivery and I asked a friend to come and put the box with the food into my house. His aid was timely because there was a rainstorm about 2 hours later.
