10mg Tiny pills, but they work

Just like the name brand, Pepcid, these seem to help my dog. They are tiny, - even tinier than the others I found. (See picture) But CAREFULLY, I can cut them in

Just like the name brand, Pepcid, these seem to help my dog. They are tiny, - even tinier than the others I found. (See picture) But CAREFULLY, I can cut them in half in with a pill cutter. (Dog needs 5mg dose, not 10mg.) The brand name is an odd shape and mostly found in 20mg dose; harder to cut into 4 pieces for that 5mg. Also, these are MUCH less expensive than brand name and other generics.

I prefer famotidine for home use to for my cat's nausea rather than long use injections unless absolutely necessary in emergency cases for one time use. I can control

I prefer famotidine for home use to for my cat's nausea rather than long use injections unless absolutely necessary in emergency cases for one time use. I can control more or less what is going into my cats body this way, and know the side effects, which are minimal, whereas with these injections of the newest long acting drugs, once they are in your pet, if your pet has a reaction to them, the long term side effects are not fully known yet. I prefer in most cases to use the older and safer and more proven medications. That being said, famotidine isn't for every pet, but generally safe for most. I use natural remedies preferably. This was the one my holistic vet chose as the one I could use add the safest medication if I needed it. :)
