How many calories per cup? Are there different varieties of this food?

Hello and thanks for the question. The Farm Dog food is about 400kcal per cup. The American Kennel Association indicates that pork as protein provides a greater ratio of calories per pound than other proteins like chicken. Good economy brand because of the pork.

My dogs seemed happy eating this food. There were no visible changes. Long term I do not know. My concern with this food is, of course, the ingredients. 1st

My dogs seemed happy eating this food. There were no visible changes. Long term I do not know. My concern with this food is, of course, the ingredients. 1st is wheat Middling, a by product of wheat milling and mostly used in cattle and pig feed. The 2nd ingredient, is ground corn, good for energy protein and fatty acids for coat but not in large quantities and this is the second ingredient in this dog food. The 3rd ingredient is Pork meat which is definitely a good meat for dogs. My dogs seemed to like the food and if it was all I could afford, because of the pork it might be a good choice but I personally prefer to have meat as the primary ingredient in my dogs food.

My dogs really like Farm Dog pork flavor dry dog food. I was feeding them another brand of dry dog food. Sometimes I chop up fresh veggies (they like them) and add it to their food. The first 2 days I fed them Farm Dog I did not add anything else to their food. I wanted to make sure they liked the Farm Dog food straight out of the bag. They ate it right up. I feed them twice a day. They cleaned their bowls & ate all of their Farm Dog food - two days/4 meals. Now at meal time I don't have to call them to eat. They sit & wait for me to put the bowls down. 😋

My 10-year-old Lab, Ruger, took to this food right away. He can be a little particular with new kibble, but he didn’t hesitate with this one—clearly the pork flavor

My 10-year-old Lab, Ruger, took to this food right away. He can be a little particular with new kibble, but he didn’t hesitate with this one—clearly the pork flavor won him over. The kibble size works well for a larger dog, and he eats it comfortably without making a mess. After a couple of weeks on it, I’ve noticed two nice changes: his interest in mealtime is back, and his digestion seems more consistent. His stools have been noticeably easier to clean up, which any dog owner will appreciate. No stomach upset during the transition either, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, this has been a great match for an older, medium-to-large dog. Ruger’s enjoying it, and the results have been positive enough that I’m planning to keep it in his rotation.

Tried this for my dogs at an evening feeding and of course mixed it with their old dog food. They seemed to really like it. I dont know how it would perform long term and it does have chicken fat in it, so if your dog has allergies to chicken then I’d avoid this food. It’s a medium size kibble so even my small guys could easily eat it.
