Farm Innovators deicers are not heaters and the temperatures can’t be adjusted. They are designed to kick on at 35°F and kick off at 45°F. The deicers will not heat your water in the pond.

If the bucket of water is empty what happens? Does it still heat?

This stock tank heater is to only be used as a floating or submersible device. It is thermostatically controlled to turn on and off automatically.

Works ok

- it works to keep the pond ice free. - But, it keeps the water a little too warm. Not unsafe for the fish, but at the point that the water is evaporating faster

Not unsafe for the fish, but at the point that the water is evaporating faster than I would like. - also if you use the floating option... The cord comes out the bottom, which for me, resulted in the heater floating sideways. And thats a bit of an issue since it is supposed to be submerged. - my final and probably most irritating thing. It instantly started corroding. Ive never had that happen before with other heaters, so I have to assume it is due to the metal composition of this product.

Cant use Extension Cord

I have not used the product so I cant speak to how well it works, but once I received it and read the instructions, it says to hire a qualified electrician to install

I have not used the product so I cant speak to how well it works, but once I received it and read the instructions, it says to hire a qualified electrician to install an electrical box next to your stock tank because you cant use an extension cord. Sorry, I cant spend $1000 on an electrician. Additionally, you have to drive a grounding pole 8 feet into the ground next to it. Also not going to happen - I live in the Ozarks and the ground is rock. The product description should say no extension cords, so I wouldnt have purchased it and have to go through the hassle of returning. Back to square one on figuring out how to keep my duck tank de-iced....

Nice sturdy deicer

Needed this for the cold. I have another but this is a better model. I love the way the cord has the metal protecting it. Easy to use. I'm buying a second.
