Why use orange in cat food when oranges are toxic to cats? I see no research to suggest that dehydrated orange is ok for cats or nutritionally beneficial.
Answer by ChewyApr 04, 2019
Oranges are a great source of nutrients and Vitamin C to keep your cat healthy. The manufacturer removes the peels, stems, leaves, and seeds of the orange before production, as these parts of the fruit are considered toxic to cats.

What percentage of carbohydrates is this formula?
Answer by ChewyAug 17, 2020
Farmina Natural & Delicious Chicken & Ancestral Low-Grain Formula Dry Cat Food has a carbohydrate content of approximately 28% on an as fed basis.

The information provided says "This GMO-free formula doesn't contain peas, lentils, pea protein, chickpeas, or added plants oils". However, the ingredients list "pea fiber". Please explain.
Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2019
This food does contain pea fiber, whereas only the pea inner fibre is used. The gluten-free and non-allergen fibres are obtained directly from non-GMO peas. Whole peas would contain an allergen which certain pets are sensitive to. Pea fiber is low in fat and has no taste or smell. It is the natural way to increase fiber without effecting texture or taste. Pea fiber can also help decrease the fat content of the food, since it has such a low fat content, and work as a binding agent.

The ingredients include, pretty high on the list, fructoligosaccaride. Isn’t that a sugar? Is that healthy for cats? The product description says that this food is low glycemic. Confused. Thanks
Answer by ChewyDec 10, 2019
Fructooligosaccharides selectively feed the beneficial bacteria and promote balance in the digestive tract. A prebiotic, such as FOS, is actually a fiber. The enzymes in your cat’s digestive tract do not digest it. Instead, the bacteria in the intestinal tract break the fiber down and use it for food.

Something is not right!

Not sure what is up with this particular bag of food. I have purchased this brand before and have not encountered this so hope it is a one off thing: Smells rancid, and lots of moisture seems to be in the bag! Cats were not fans although they liked other versions of this brand. Next time I will be sure to purchase a grain-free version again and see if there is a difference. I will not buy this version again, but would try other options of this brand.

Cats Love Farmina

I switched to Ancestral Grain because the other was giving one of our cats litter box issues. So far it's better and it's a good thing because I have been trying to switch brands due to an allergy and both cats won't eat anything else but this.

HELP. The food is damp

My cats are all getting sick from this food and it arrived with dust all over inside the bag, the aluminum inside is damp and so is the food. Is there something wrong with this batch? They love this food. Is it possible for me to try another bag from a different batch. Thank you

Fat Cats...

My cats loved this food, but it was making them really fat. One of my cats gained so much weight that she couldn't stretch around to clean her back and she started getting a lot of dry skin. So, I had to go bac to their old food.

My cat loves this!

My absolutely devours this food! She waits every morning at her bowl until I give her some. Her previous food was no longer available to purchase at the moment and this was the closet in quality I could find, so we tried it. Absolutely recommend.

Toast & Co

I have two finicky eaters who will, at random, decide that the current food they are eating is no longer good enough for them. Finding a new food is a pain because they will turn their noses up to almost everything. I had been feeding them Nacho, which they seemed content with but wouldn't finish all in one go. I was recommended this by my sibling and I have to say I'm impressed. They recommended Farmina because my cat won't eat a lot and loses weight easily because of it. So, I ordered it up and gave it a shot. My cats all adored it instantly. They wanted more and more. They cleaned their bowls easily for the first time in a year or two. So pleased and especially love the variety of flavors Farmina offers. I'm glad it isn't all just chicken and fish! My cats love lamb and boar, so I'll be trying that flavor for them at some point. Thank you for the amazing food.

Happy tummies

I have 2 finicky rescued kitties (mother and daughter) that aren't fans of wet food yet have sensitive stomachs. They vomit up even the sensitive formulas. This food was an instant hit. They actually clean their bowl and no stomach issues since they've been on this food. I'm happy that the ingredients are free of plant oils and hard to digest ingredients. The older cat no longer scoots after visiting her litter box. Its low grain not totally grain free but oats are good source of soluble fiber.
