Farmina N&D Quinoa Canine Adult Weight Management Lamb, Broccoli & Asparagus Dry Dog Food, 11-lb bag

My dog, Chewy, was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago. He’s fourteen and has several other health issues so trying to find a food that works for him feels near impossible. His internal medicine specialist gave me a list of several prescription foods that met all of his specific needs and he hated all of them! By some miracle, I happened to be looking at farmina products for my other dog and stumbled upon this weight management food. The dry matter basis of the fat content is 8.79% (he needs 10% or below), the other macros are within appropriate ranges, and the calories are lower with high fiber (9.02% DMB) allowing Chewy to eat more per serving. His internal medicine specialist approved of this food and more importantly, so does little chewy! He actually scarfed this stuff down the first time I gave it to him like he was thankful I finally found the right food. The kibble pieces are small which works for Chewy as he is only 15 pounds and they soak well in water or broth if necessary. The food is smelly enough to keep Chewy interested but not over powering. The lamb is novel to him and his digestion has still been perfect. Note for pet parents not used to higher fiber foods: transfer over to this food a bit slower as to not upset your dog’s tummy. Also, don’t be alarmed if they start popping more frequently. All in all, both Chewy and I are very happy with this food. This will be his food for the foreseeable future. We’re also both very happy that Fermina is now available on chewy.com and we will be purchasing this from now on.
