Why doesn’t the lid connect to the bottom?

This litter box has a special privacy access system, without a flap door, to let cats in and keep dogs out. The lid completely detaches form the bottom to allow for easy cleaning.

The cat adjusted just fine, but our lab is determined to get inside and can lay down and get her head underneath the opening enough to jostle the lid off. Even with a bungie cord holding it down. We have now resorted to turning it sideways and trying to block most of the entrance so only the cat can access. Luckily, he's been very understanding about all of the changes. It does not feel like $50 well spent in our case.

Not worth it

Bought it to keep my dog from getting into the kitty litter and snacking on the contents, as some dogs do. Unfortunately this litter box doesn't have any locking

Bought it to keep my dog from getting into the kitty litter and snacking on the contents, as some dogs do. Unfortunately this litter box doesn't have any locking mechanism to keep the lid on and he can nuzzle his head right in between the top and bottom and Pops the top off, helping himself to the contents of the litter box. Nice design idea but it lacks something to keep the lid on, as other covered litter boxes do have latches. Definitely not worth what I paid for this.

Skip the outdoor part of the marketing, it's great for dogs!

This litterbox is perfect. I've been using it now for the past month and NO MORE STRESS about the dog getting in to where the litterbox is to eat cat poop. Has ended

We have this litter box on the pool lanai and no water has gotten into it. Our 8 pound cat took to using it right away. So happy to have this!

Only one thing kept me for not giving 5 stars. The lid was not secure enough so it was often found ajar with litter wet from rain or mist.

Dogs cannot get into it to eat the littler.

The only thing I have found that the dogs can't get into to eat the litter. Wish I knew of it years ago.
