How long is the shelf life after opening bag? Should we refrigerate?

Ideally, dry food and treats should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location.

In 2021 I had the pleasure of spending 30 minutes one on one with a sales rep from the first mate company so I actually learned a bit about their food incorporate philosophy First Mate was founded by a true dog lover/sailor who said “your dog is your first mate in life” The the protein “meal“ ingredients and the grains they are mixed with have to meet a higher standard under Canadian regulation, and the grains are not only notcheap feed grains, but they are human grade and oat barley and brown rice are much healthier than corn and white rice options Give some excellent muscle tone and lovely, shiny coat and eyes I’ve been feeding this along with wet food to the small colony of feral and stray cats who I tend to in my garden twice aday, and they never leave any

My senior cat with thickened intestinal walls is a kibble cat. I crush some of this kibble in a mortar and pestle and sprinkle it on the wet pate. He's lost weight

My senior cat with thickened intestinal walls is a kibble cat. I crush some of this kibble in a mortar and pestle and sprinkle it on the wet pate. He's lost weight due to his condition and this kibble is higher in calories. He's happier and has gained back a couple of ounces so far.

None of the cats would eat it, so disappointing.

I have been trying different dry food since they have changed the formula for FF dry food. It's hard to find something they like and that is good for them. I hoped

Made my cats sick.

I have 6 cats, 2 adult & 6 kittens. They have primarily been on Nulo which we never had issues with but I needed something cheaper at the time but the same benefits/good
