I did wonder how effective this could be, but I'm a natural skeptic. But there's There is much less kitty litter in my living room these days. The litter box was in a different room and down the hall, so we'd been impressed how far that litter could travel! It's a good size so when the "Flying Wallendas" decide it's too boring to just walk out, we're still covered, so to speak! Now, it's not perfect, but that's more on sneaky, sneaky nature of kitty litter than the mat. I certainly think it does a great job for the price.
